i think its a worse sign when youre in the lottery and do nothing in the off season to improve your team....everything we see now is basically the franchise stuck in neutral until the cap relief comes next year

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Is it a bad sign when 2/3 of your regular roster is in the summer league?  They're sending the entire bench except Ollie...

That is a great sign. The goal of the Sixers is to suck next year. We need Beasley or Rose on this team next year. I really don't see the difference between winning 40 games and winning 30 games. The season still ends with no championship, so you might as well get a lottery pick in the process to continue to stock up on young talent.

It's called building for the future.  Which is why we drafted Thad Young over Thornton.  Sorry, quick fixes don't work.  See Boston and New York.

ice grillin you

building for the future only works if you have great young players...the sixers have none...i have no problem building but they did nothing this offseason with three first rounders that would indicate great hope for the future...i have no problem with the young pick but it certainly doesnt scream awesome future

they will go nowhere witht he young players they have now until they bust out in free agency which hopefully will happen in the next two summers...so in essence yes a quick fix is what this team needs..admittedly it will work in this case because the sixers do have some nice complimentary guys to surround studs with...but until they get the studs the thaddeus youngs dont do anything

Thad Young was a Rivals top 5 pick going into college and had a decent Freshmen year at 15/5.  Hollinger system, although extremely stupid, scored him at 3 in the draft.. I think only behind Oden and Durant.  Thad Young has all star potential.  Iguodala will be an all star this year.  Korver is a good 6th man.  Jason Smith is athletic as hell, with like a 38 inch verticla and the highest score on the agility test.  And we have Andre Miller, a good point guard to help develop our young guys.  Carney, although having a medicore season, was only a rookie last year, and he has the athleticism and quickness to be a good player if he just puts it to use.  Most importantly, we are easily the worst team in the Atlantic this year, and one of the worst in the league.  Boston and New York just jumped ahead of us with their trades, and even Charlotte and Atlanta should be better.  We'll have Rose, Mayo, Beasley, Hibbert, etc coming our way.  There's our #1 star.

People need to get off Hibbert's nuts. He'll be good in the NBA, but I doubt he'll be a go-to guy. I could think of probably at least 10 players I'd prefer next year, even before the season starts.

I'd take Rose and Beasley over Mayo considering the Sixers are jam packed at the 2 and the 3. I am a bit worried BK is going to panic and trade away too much for a big man this offseason. His job is on the line and he probably worries about finishing with another poor record. Even if he did get the nod from Snider, that still is a lot of pressure on Snider to turn this team around, and he could chop BK.

OJ Mayo is not a wingman. He's a real good player but I don't like him much, he's a gunner even when his shot isn't working like Arenas. I'd rather have Eric Gordon.

The BIGSTUD

You think Mayo will play point in the NBA? I'm not so sure. He has the scoring ability of a wing player. The gunner thing is why I think he won't play PG. The absolute worst position to have a gunner is at the point. That is why AI was moved to the 2 when he was drafted, and I think Mayo could be as well.

mayo and most of those guys are the same kinda guys teams like the hawks and clippers get and they go round and round never going anywhere with...talented but clueless guys who cant play the game and never learn how because they are thrown onto teams who have no stud veterans...the sixers already have a solid young nucleus that they need to add some proven free agent veterans to in the next couple years...stop worrying about the oj mayos of the world...they arent gonna help at this point

they need to develop what they currently have and add to it with the cap money that is coming free in 08/09

Aaron Mckie is going to be auditioning for a coaches postion this year.  He's the perfect type of character to coach.
