We didn't struggle with TE's last season, our D's problem was with getting run over especially on sweep plays

and this year expect the opposite to happen...the plus is that spikes will get burtn less in the pass game than dhani did in the run game...the minus is that getting burnt on a pass play is worse than getting burnt on a run play

Spikes isn't that bad in coverage, he won't shut opposing TE's down but neither could Bowtie.

Haven't read the rest of the thread yet, but a 7th rounder? What's the condition? Can it escalate to a 6th or 5th? Wow, I was thinking it was a 5th at least since I haven't seen any details, that's a bargain.

I found this post on the Giants MB particulary hilarious...

is it just me or does Philly try to do something right after the Giants do something?  I mean it was bad enough that they ended up getting Curtis after the Giants were somewhat a front runner, until the Eagles decided what the hell lets throw millions to him so he can't be with the Giants. Then today we sign Mitchell, and what do they do?? Trade for Spikes why? because we once again made a move for someone, and they must try to be better than us.

I'm going to laugh when BJ runs right through that retirement home they call a LB core, someone should preorder some wheelchairs for Trotter, and Spikes

The Bills had discussed Spikes trade scenarios with other clubs as well, but none of those had progressed on Monday as far as the talks with the Eagles. Contrary to reports, the New York Giants were not suitors for Spikes' services.

I just enjoy seeing what they do with the chart when they bring in new guys. Obviously it doesn't reflect what we'll see Week 1 of the regular season. Sometimes they move a guy like Curtis right into the starting position. With Spikes they can't do that politically until they cut Dhani.

I say go with the 5-2 defense. Spikes and Trotter at LB. Killa, Bunkley, Patterson and Howard lineman. Use Kearse as LB/DE

Well..teams that run the 3-4 line up in a 5-2 look as it is....Cole and Kearse might actually be decent 3-4 outside LB's/rush guys. With Trotter and Spikes in the middle, and Bunkley, Howard, and Patterson/Reagor as the down guys....
