seriously why would any met fan try and puff their chest out after this weekend...the phllies arent as good as them on normal circumstances but with three minor leaguers going what do you expect to happen....certainly not posts of rear view mirrors...

Far from puffing out my chest, dook.  I understand what the deal is with the Phils pitching and knew what would happen just like you did.  Just like I knew any chance the Mets had for a sweep went out the window the second Perez was scratched and Mike farging Pelfrey got the rock.

Simply wondering if any Phillies fans are still puffing out their chests from way back when the Mets were stumbling.  I would have used that pic of the Phillies in the hummer with the hookers and hos and all that but surprise, surprise... it was taken down and is just a x now.

Either way, the Mets have the wherewithal to go out and sign whomever they choose and the Phillies don't (or more to the point WON'T).

That's the difference between the two teams.  Player for player in the starting line-up the Phillies and the Mets are very close.  Pitching, as always, determines who wins and the Mets have the edge there, no question.

As far as puffing our chests out, wahhhhhhhh.  Of course we're going to talk shtein when we're winning.  Since when is that a crime?  It amazes me that anyone who calls himself an Eagles fan could ever complain about others talking shtein when we're the kings of that.

Check a couple posts back and tell me who's complaining, cap'n... those "rearview mirror" and "sinking ship" posts were made in the Mets thread without a peep from me or Die-Hard.  I even thought it was kind of funny.  I post one pic in the Phillies thread and folks get their panties in a bunch.

Personally, I couldn't give two shteins about the pic or anybody here talking shtein about the Mets.  I simply took a playful jab back in light of this past series.

505 feet on Howards jack

Anyone brought up how the phillies just made this number up?

I heard it on eskin's show first. But then I saw it for myself. Howard hit the ball to ashburn alley, and the phils announced it was 505 ft...but there is a sign, not 5 feet from where the ball bounced that said 482.
