Howard has four strikeouts and a two-run dinger.

I'd take that every game because, you know, K's are irrelevant.

I thought Sarge was gonna need a Kleenex after that homer.

:-D

Bums win 11-4.  Goodnight.

MDS

They should be sweeping Cinci. Couple that with a split with the Mets and we in the money.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

mets just gave up a homer in the 11th...hopefully cards hold on...their bullpen is getting worked this series too...back to back 11 inning games

Actually, they probably should lose tomorrow night vs Harang and win 2 out of 3, but if they want to make any sort of move and gain momentum heading into the Mets series, a sweep would obviously be preferable.

how gorgeous was that utley hr swing

He has -by far- the best swing on the team.  Utley is gawd.

In a shocking move by Phillies management, they convinced a decent Florida high school draft pick (Jiwan James) to change his mind in less than 24 hours and sign with them instead of going to U of Florida.

According to MDS' boy Marcus Hayes we should likely see Burrell in the lineup tonight because he's 3-6 off of Harang. But Charlie sounds like he wants to go with the hot hand and will keep Bourn in there. Which I want to see happen.

I am starting to like him more and more each day. That type of speed is a pain in the ass for opposing pitchers as we all remember when Florida had Pierre and Castillo tearing it up a couple years back.

I also really like Carlos Ruiz. Barajas, Helms and Burrell should never see the field again. Ever.

Charlie also sounded off when asked if he feels pressure to play Burrell from Monty and the boys because of the contract and he said he does what he wants when he wants and has the balls to do whatever he pleases.

charlie is three months away from permanent retirement which is the only reason hes talking like that....too little too late chuckles...concentrate more on whether youre making the right managerial move vs making some sort of statement.....dope

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

I think he's finally fed up to the point, well he has been making bullpen comments since the offseason, where he's ripping away at the team Gillick has given him. One of the columnists today pointed out the payroll (Hofman I think) that is zesty and or hurt and not helping versus the young bucks in there not making much but getting it done. Gillick should be ashamed.

ice grillin you

agreed...gillicks heart is clearly not in this team...he just doesnt care and he also has one foot in retirement already

Rome

Countdown to The Amaro, Jr. Regime has officially begun.

ice grillin you

think about that...the next gm of the phillies will be ed wades protege

maybe not record wise because the team has enough money to always make it semi competitive but an amaro regime would be the low point in the history of this franchise...and thats saying a mouthful
