Don't know if there are any die-cast collectors here or not, but if there are, Mattel and Hot Wheels have announced that in cooperation with 60's car building icon George Barris, they will come out with a line of Batmobile die-cast cars for 2007.link

QuoteMattel will produce multiple scales of the Hot Wheels® Batmobile, including a 1:64th scale model that will appear on store shelves in spring 2007 as part of the Hot Wheels® basic car line. In fall 2007, there will be an additional 1:64th scale model introduced as well as a 1:43rd scale replica model and a 1:18th scale, which will have three tiers of detail and finish. The ultimate version, the Hot Wheels Elite™ special edition Batmobile, will have enough detail to delight even the most discriminating of Batmobile aficionados and die-cast collectors alike.

Keep in mind that due to copyright wars this car hasn't been reproduced in over 35 years. Not since Aurora in the late 1960's has there been a plastic kit, and I believe Corgi was the last company to produce a die-cast of the famous TV car. Anyone who collects die-cast cars or Hot Wheels has to be waiting for this car to hit the stores. I just hope they produce enough to give everyone a chance to buy one, 'cause this one will go quick. I was a big fan of the TV show in the 60's as a kid, built, and destroyed two of the Aurora kit's. It goes for 100's of dollars whenever it hits ebay. Overpriced to say the least. I still have a nice Corgi 267 with both caped crusaders still intact. If you have that badboy mib, which mine isn't, it is reaaaallly pricey. link This is the best one I've seen ever on e-bay.

.......and, amazingly enough, the 2007 version is already on e-bay.link Can you believe that!?!? I think I'll wait for the legal version, it will prolly' be cheaper too.

If this isn't a "random musing not worthy of a new thread", then I don't know what is.

How 'bout half your post's? If you think that way then why bother bumping it?

The Batmobile was bad for the environment.

I pissed in its gas tank.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

If you had actually tried that, you would end up with a batarang to the balls.

Fascinating.  Makes me want to start a poll.

I don't start new threads for any amount near half of my post's (sic).

Oh well, I thought there might be a few of you who collected something besides post and empty beer containers. I've just always been fascinated by the Batmobile, the Munster Koach, and the 1971 Plymouth Barracuda. If you've ever seen Batmans ride at a car show, it's a real work of art. Just like most all George Barris's customs.

Diomedes

Nothing wrong with it, shore.  It's quaint.  And totally deserving of a new thread.  Totally.

Neither of you are as bad as you think you are.

PoopyfaceMcGee

The fact that you're seeking disagreement for the sake of it means you're more like me than you'd like to think.

One night a few months ago...I was driving home from work and pulled up to a stoplight next to two guys drving the Batmobile.  It wasn't Batman & Robin because to my knowledge... B & R weren't black.

At first I didn't believe it but I hadn't had anything to drink so it had to be real.
