Well, in all fairness, you do alter your comprehension style depending on what makes the better argument.

ice grillin you

not really....most people tho are not as fair as i am...so when i say something in support of the team i get it from one side and when i say something that could be looked at as critical i get it from the other

fair is fair billie jean

Is IGY now arguing that his style is non-argumentative?

ice grillin you

its a message board youre supposed to argue...what good would it be if everyone agreed....just so happens that most of my opinions are not agreed with...

unless you believe that i disagree just to argue with people and i dont really believe what im saying is true....and in that case i should be banned...

I think you would wither away and die if you realized that more people agree with you on all things non-movie-related than you give us/them credit for.  You're not nearly as persecuted for your opinions as your message board persona would have us believe.  It's more as if you find the small disagreements and magnify them.

I don't believe you represent anything other than your own beliefs, but it's certain that you do thrive on points of contention and almost seemingly dislike accord.

Diomedes

well, you do like to insult, instigate, and push a discussion towards a you-against-everyone (except your sidekick of course) dynamic, but no I'm not saying you're a troll.

You DO however alter your style and emphases depending on your argument, depend upon hyperbolic statements that don't pin you down so you can wind out of a position, etc.

It's all good though...we luv us sum vanilla ice grillin you.

You also like to agree/use stats when they support your view point, and dismiss them as "stats don't tell the whole story" when they don't support your opinion.

Whatever. Everyone wants to be right. Who doesn't?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

so depending on how strongly i feel about my position my language/style may change

agreed

and i would argue that hyperbolic statements lock you more into a position not give you an out of one....see sean taylor

not the same stats tho...some stats are meaningless like most defensive football stats...other stats carry quite a bit of meaning like many baseball numbers....so if a stat applies to my argument of course i would use it...and if someone else throws out a meaningless number i will call it out

It's more like you change both your level of denseness with regards to the opinions of others as well as your level of exaggeration with regards to your own posts.  You are very creative in finding ways to disagree.
