I actually don't want us to draft him, I was going more for the 2 first names/massive, unathletic OL thing.

Fine, but in this case the fact that he went to BC is irrelevant so eat a fleshpop

The Eagles will draft a DT and then move Bunkley to the middle; Kirkland II.

Also, Paul Solilai from Utah:

Negatives - 344 lb DT
Positives - Very possibly a Mormon (originally from Samoa and went to Utah)

If Andy spends any time scouting him, his head will explode.  On one hand, he almost has to draft him, on the other hand, he absolutely can't.

BTW, the BYU QB (Beck) is apparently climbing up many draft boards.  If he falls anywhere near the Eagles' pick in the 5th round, you better believe they grab him up.

There's no doubt in my mind John Beck will be an Eagle.

QuotePatrick gets longest look at Delaware's Pro Day
Blue Hens tight end could go as high as third round in draft
By KEVIN TRESOLINI, The News Journal
Posted Friday, March 23, 2007
NEWARK -- They came with their speed, their agility, their strength and their dreams.

Ben Patrick's are about to come true.

The others could only hope on the University of Delaware's annual Pro Day, which attracted 15 football players who have completed their collegiate eligibility -- six from UD, eight from Delaware State and one from Colorado -- to audition for a half-dozen NFL scouts on Thursday.

Special interest was being taken in Patrick, which is why the Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers sent their tight ends coaches to the UD Field House. The Blue Hen tight end is projected to be chosen as high as the third round of next month's NFL draft. Some scouting services rank him as the No. 3 tight end prospect.

Patrick has already undergone intense scrutiny. On Thursday, he ran a 40-yard dash in the Field House, then went outside to UD's practice field for some individual sessions with the Chiefs' John Embry and the Panthers' Geep Chryst.

"The game tape is still great," Chryst said. "That's still the best evaluation. This helps color in that profile, and you get to know the person a little bit."

The other participants, whose best NFL shot is likely through free agency, went through a battery of basic tests.

They had their vertical and straight-ahead leaps measured, were tested for how many repetitions they could bench press 225 pounds and were timed in the 40 as well as a couple of shuttle runs, which combined speed and stop-and-go dexterity.

"You never know," UD defensive coordinator Nick Rapone said while watching the proceedings with more than 50 others, referring to the one performance that could catch a team's interest.

UD cornerback Rashaad Woodard ran his two 40s in 4.39 and 4.41 seconds, which caught the attention of some.

"Any athlete that believes in their abilities thinks they can make it to the next level," said Delaware State running back Emmanuel Marc. "It gives you a chance to see where you stand. You just want to be able to get the opportunity. That's what it's all about."

Former Glasgow High and University of Colorado player Joe Swift, 26 and working at Pro Physical Therapy, wasn't ready to give up.

"I'll be here every year until something happens," Swift said.

"Maybe I can be a nice movie one day," he added, referring to the 2006 hit "Invincible," which recounted how Vince Papale made the Eagles after an open tryout in 1976.

Patrick has already caught the full attention of the NFL. In his lone UD season, after transferring from Duke, he was a consensus All-American after catching 64 passes for 639 yards and six touchdowns.

The 22-year-old from Savannah, Ga., played in the East-West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl, and also demonstrated his skills at the NFL Combine.

"Things are going pretty well for me," Patrick said. "There are still some things I want to get better at. I wouldn't be the athlete I am if I was satisfied with where I am now."

Embry and Chryst had Patrick do some shuttle runs between cones that concluded with him being thrown a pass. He later ran a variety of patterns and was thrown balls high and low to see if he could make tougher catches, which he usually did. A stiff wind, wet field and fatigue added to the difficulty factor.

"We've already seen him with helmet and shoulder pads on," Chryst said, referring to the all-star games. "We've already seen him at the combine. This particular workout is a little different. ... You're just looking at basics, how an athlete moves his body.

"For example, when you throw him the ball, how do his eyes track the ball? The field is wet. What's his body balance like if his foot slips out? Does he go head over heels or can he control it? So, in every situation, you just gather kind of an athletic profile. You can see balance, center of gravity."

Patrick, who is 6-foot-3, has dropped about 15 pounds, down to 250, in an effort to get faster and gain endurance.

"I've still got to get better," he said.

That was a sentiment shared by many Thursday.

Hens lose backfield coach

Delaware running backs coach James Perry is leaving to become the quarterbacks coach at Brown, Delaware coach K.C. Keeler said.

Perry, 29, who spent one season at Delaware, was a three-time All-Ivy quarterback for Brown and Ivy League player of the year as a senior in 1999. He will rejoin his former coach, Phil Estes.

"I love it here," Perry said of UD. "But when you have a chance like this, you know you have to do it. It'll be great being back at Brown."

Perry will be replaced on the UD staff by T.J. DiMuzio, a former backup quarterback and student coach at Delaware who coached tight ends on Dave Cohen's staff at Hofstra last fall. DiMuzio's father, Tom, was Delaware's quarterback in 1968 and '69.
