A Phils/Socks series would be high risk/high reward.  The risk would be the potential to lose to Boston and feel the wraith of their awful and annoying fans.  However, just imagine how great it would be beating Boston in the World Series and silencing their loser fans.  It would also make up for all the championships their fairweather fans have experienced in the last few years.

I don't give a rat's ass who the Phillies beat to win the first major sports championship for Philadelphia in over 25 years, but if you hold a gun to my head, I guess I'd pick the Red Sox.

No one gives a shtein about the Rays, and it doesn't matter if they're the better team or not.

The second worst thing in the world for hte Phillies was this series going 7 games. If TB won in game 5 they woulda had almost the same lay off that the Phils had.

The worst thing in the world is this thing going to game 7 and Boston winning it. They'll have a ton of momentum if they win it.

If TB wins it, they'll just be relieved that they didn't totally choke.

It actually took about a day longer than I though for the typical philly fan to get scared of the potential opponent playing the world series. The whole "I'd rather them face <insert perceived weaker team here>" is cowardice.

Phils are winning this. It does not matter who they play.

Momentum only gets you so far.  I'd like to think that the Pitchers getting all screwed up from these extra games, will have them starting out slow.
