Ever since I upgraded to 2.0.0.1, I have been unable to use effectively. It will find text strings up to 3 characters, but no more. As an example, if I am searching for the term 'Jason' in a web page, I either hit  or go to Edit -> Find In This Page and enter my text in the box at the lower left corner.

'Jas' - so far, so good. Might find a 'Jason' or it might find a 'Jasper', a 'Jasmine' or a 'Jasc'. But, if I get to the 'Jaso' it shows me the red box and says 'none found' sound even if there is a 'Jason' in the text in the page.

Anyone see this before? Know a fix?

I uninstalled, and reinstalled, but no luck. Same error. I need to search, people!

Help please.

Sticking with the word "Jason" as an example if you type in Jas and it finds a Jasper and you finish by typing Jason and it finds nothing, then try typing Jasper out and see if it finds that word or in your case the words it is finding instead of of your original word. This will tell us whether or not it just couldn't find that particular word you were looking for or whether it really screws up beyond 3 characters.

Are you sure the right direction is enabled as in find next or find previous? Is match case checked in? If so you will need to use the right casing or it won't find the word.

Did you try this on all pages? Some pages have frames and your search may have been in the frame area where the word you were looking for wasn't there. Try clicking on the area right where the word is and then try it.

But these are all really easy and basic solutions so you may or may have not tried these already. I don't know how computer literate you are.

Very computer literate..  And I tried all of that.  If I get to 'Jas", and it finds 'Jasper', as soon as I type the P, it says none found.

I appreciate the hints, but I need more.   :)

I had used Firefox for awhile with no problems, then all of a sudden they automatically upgraded me (possibly the same version as Demon) and the computer got farged up and I couldn't even log on to this here messaging board blog. Randomally my computer started working fine and I've working out of IE for now. Firefox was better when it worked, but I don't trust it right now.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I followed this link (http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=firefox). and reverted back to 1.5.07, and everything seems to be working.  I'll troubleshoot tomorrow some more when I'm soberer and less tireder, but for now this has fixed my search problems for now.
