A good trick I heard of if it gets wet is wrap it up in womens nylon leggings and bury it in rice. the rice will absorb the moisture.

Wait...are you still talking about the phone?

yes. true story

never tried that but it sounds kinky as hell...im on it

Rome

If you dropped it ten times on Sunday then you did better than the Eagles receivers.

i knocked the top half of mine in the sink when i was shaving. hit it with my elbow. luckily i grabbed it before fully submerging. after that i could hear people talking, but people couldn't hear me. i could put it on speaker and it would work fine. somehow it got locked on earphone mode, when i didn't have earphones in it. after an hour or two though it must of dried out and it was working fine. someone told me to do the nylon leggings and rice method though if its real bad.

i heard if you cover it in barbeque sauce and then hide it under a frisbee for two days, that works too.

That's pretty much what was happening. It thought the headphones were plugged in, the power button was acting goofy, and you couldn't hear callers (and they couldn't hear you). I saw the condensation on the inside of the camera lens. After an hour or so on the dashboard (with the doors locked!), it dried out. And when the phone cooled down, it was okay for a moment...and that's when it totally locked up. I tried the hard reset on it, and that caused it to go brain dead. But I really like the backup/restore capability with itunes.

can you use the iphone on ipod docking stations?  i've got one that i use on my patio and then another one that plugs into my car and tunes into the radio.

i would think the answer is yes, but it wouldn't suprise me if they made the iphone different just to get the customer to spend more money.

It depends. Ipods can do either firewire or USB for charging (they are two different voltages). The older docks are made to charge ipods via the firewire interface. The iphone spec dropped the firewire support, so when the phone sees firewire voltage, it refuses to charge.

The rest of the connection still works; it just won't charge.

If the dock/connector uses the USB spec, everything should work fine.

how awesome would it be if there was a limewire app on the iphone.

then people could steal on the go
