I'm not from Philly but some say I'm blunt.

don;t know if any of you iphone nerds subscribe to any podcasts, i only do a few but there's one called comedy death ray, it's one hour and is uploaded on friday afternoons.  so farging funny.  last friday's was a special 2 hour special and the second hour literally had me crying.  it's hosted by scott aukerman and usually has 2-3 special guests per episode.  listen if you like laughing.

Got one of these last week.  It's the teacher version (i.e. the cheapest), but it seems to work very nicely.

I was able to download an app to listen to the Phillies game (without paying for the MLB package on iPhone) while grocery shopping with the family.  It was good to hear L.A. on the radio.

If I can find an app to make hoagies and cheesesteaks, I may never have to return to Philly again.

Yesterday's presser was funny.

"Any suggestions?"
"VERIZON!"

i'm due for a new iphone. i watched some of the conference yesterday and i like it.

PoopyfaceMcGee

It might be worth purchasing for the screen resolution alone.

phattymatty

Rome

The latest henway app looks cool too.

Interesting that AT&T changed their data plans a couple of days before Apple released the new iPhone. And AT&T is now letting people upgrade early. I could be wrong, but I suspect that people might have to ditch their current unlimited data plan to get the new phone.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Pay to play.  Econ 101.  Most people will actually save money with the new plans, and the people who use a ton of data will pay more.

Susquehanna Birder

And now that they have everybody hooked on the internet on demand concept, AT&T will be cashing in quick before their exclusivity deal runs out.

Am I understanding it correctly that current customers who pay $30/mo for unlimited data are basically grand fathered into that rate and will continue with that plan and only new customers will pay the new rates?

If that's the case, I'm curious if that grand fathering extends to changing/upgrading your phone.  In other words, if I upgrade to a new iPhone in 2 years, do I have accept the new plan or do I still keep my current data package and rates?

PoopyfaceMcGee

If you re-up your contract, you'll have to go with a new plan.

Susquehanna Birder

Exactly. The new plan brings more money to AT&T, and they are using the new technology to lure people away (early) from their existing plan.

Of course, at the end of your current 2-year term, you'll have to change plans anyway.
