Brian Westbrook

OK, you want an answer?

We have a coach who has repeatedly said that he doesn't want to overwork Westbrook because he's afraid of getting him hurt.

We have a team that ranked at the bottom of the league in time of possession this year.

We have a team that lost SEVERAL games this year that they were leading. And several of those were in the fourth quarter.

Do you see a farging correlation here?

You're a joke, and everyone recognizes that. You and Munson are in a class by yourselves, but if you can't see that Westbrook needs a complimentary back then you need to eat some rat poison and walk into traffic. Right now.

I didn't say that. You said he is an all or none back and isn't an every down back. I agree that he needs a compliment... most backs do. But you are using tonight to rip Westbrook? Please. He is absolutely a back that can handle the load. The Saints played great run defense tonight. Who would've done what Brian couldn't tonight?
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

He is an all or none back. Tonight is only one example out of many.

Defend him all you want. I don't really care. Your opinion means nothing because you're a clueless homer. As I've always said: He's an exciting player. A talented player. But he isn't the kind of player that should be a feature back. You can have a different opinion, I guess, but I'll take a guy who gets positive yardage EVERY PLAY over someone who hits a homerun every now and then and who dances like a dipshtein behind the line on every other play.

So last week's playoff game where he singlehandedly won the game with 2 minutes left with pretty much nothing but carries doesn't count? Youz a hater that isn't content unless you have something to complain about. Westbrook needs some help but is plenty capable of carrying most of the load.

Munson

RJS bashes Reid a ton, but is quick to his cock when it comes to Westbrook.

The "all or nothing" guy is going to have that type of night when the coach refuses to run him enough to let him gain chunks of yards at a time. See: last week, late drive. Run, run, run, etc....Tonight? Pass...run...pass...punt...run...pass, pass, punt...etc...

Next year, Westbrook needs to average about 20 carries a game, and someoen else who can push people around needs to get an addition 8-10 a game.

Unfortuantely that won't happen with Reid as head coach.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Hey numbnuts, are you using one of ONLY games in Westbrook's career where he was able to run out a clock as your baseline? That game is BY FAR the exception.

You dipshteins are so predictable. Anyone says anything negative about the team, no matter how obviously correct it is, and you fly off the handle trying to defend it. WESTBROOK IS NOT A GRIND IT OUT BACK. THIS TEAM NEEDS A GRIND IT OUT BACK. Just like every team in the NFL does. I'm not saying they should cut Westbrook, I'm saying that they shouldn't ever expect him to be able to wear a defense down because he can't farging do it.

Clowns.

They need a two pronged attack. I agree. Let Westbrook do his thing but have another thumper in there. Not necessarily a "big back" (I think that term is overused and cliche) but a guy who can run effectively along with Westy.

Indy has Rhodes and Addai
Dallas has Barber and Jones
Giants had Tiki and Jacobs
Pats have Maroney and Dillon
Chicago has Benson and Jones
Jacksonville has Jones-Drew and Taylor
Washington has Portis and Betts
New Orleans has McAllister and Bush
Tampa has Pittman and Williams
Atlanta has Dunn and Norwood

They need something like that.

anyone that would criticize westbrook even in a backhanded kind of way is a moron

like i said in another thread hes arguably the best player in the nfl

its a farging tragedy that he only got 13 carries last night
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

He isn't the best player in the NFL. He's a one-trick pony that needs a compliment. I love the dude to death and I'm glad he's an Eagle but until they get someone competent to run along side of him this team's offense will be incomplete.

Yeah, the Eagles probably needed to run more, but there were gaping holes in the Saints secondary. It seemed like every completion the WRs were a couple of yards separated from the DBs. I didn't mind passing the ball in most of those situations, excluding short yardage. 2nd and 1 within the 10 I don't know why you don't run it two times and just pick up a friggin' half yard a pop for goodness sake. A whole new set of downs within the 5 yard line would have been huge.

Also, the O-line didn't play up to expectations yesterday. The blitz was way too effective and the guards and tackles did not do a good job of sealing off their blocks on the off tackle runs. It seemed like the Saints front seven always had a good jump off the ball and blew up the play on the inside before it really had a chance to materialize.

PhillyPhreak54

I sure wish he would have been able to catch the ball better last night though. :-\

what the hell are you talking about....youre just retarded

the injury thing will always be there...but hes proved to be a no doubt about it #1 running back who can carry a team by himself if need be...hes a not a complimentary back...thats just insanity

He's not a complimentary back. He NEEDS a complimentary back. He's a homerun hitter and nothing else. He's been able to grind out the clock, what, three times in his career. That won't cut it and I'm sick of his farging dancing behind the line when all the team needs is 2 or 3 positive yards. You will never convince me that they don't need another back. Ever. Homeruns are fun, but I'll take a 3 yard gain and half a minute off the clock when this team has a lead and he can't do that.

He's been able to grind out the clock, what, three times in his career

which is about the number of times hes been given the chance to grind out the clock

theres nothing westbrook cant do...given the chance hed do what he did vs the giants on that last drive all the time

but I'll take a 3 yard gain and half a minute off the clock when this team has a lead and he can't do that

running backs run...and hes runs better than almost anyone...if youre talking about 3rd and 1 and want a power back to get a yard then ill bite...but if youre talking about running and gaining yards which is what you need to do to run clock then ill take westbrook everytime

??? He's flat out the best player on this team, and one of the most versitile players in the league. He can't beat you running, catching passes, and returning punts. Calling him a "one-trick pony"  is crazy.

You said we weren't going to win. Yet, you want to attack the best player on the team after it's over. Do you plan on giving the Saints D any credit?? They knew they had to stop Bwest if they had any chance of winning, and they did a pretty damn good job of it.

We lost to the better team because they had a great game plan to stop our no. 1 weapon.
