Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

Sounds about right. A bit of UK English (as that was taught in school), much of Lancaster County PA mixed with Pittsburgh (closest friends during a 9 month stay were from the Pittsburgh area), with a touch of 5 months Pacific...

Funny part was, after the first time in the US, nobody I met and spoke English with did think I was NOT a native speaker (closest they came was the Scandinavians of Minnesota). Most placed me somewhere in PA. After my second stay last year, again I was able to fool most (including most stewardesses and the like).
