one of the best things about the Vet was the signs they would hang on the endzone walls

did you get that jd power survey email the other day

i wrote three very long compliants in it to lurie

1. bring back the stadium signs....gave the vet mad character...espcially sign man...probably my first and most vivid memory as a child going to philly sporting events was the 'eagle power' sign that was always up....i used to love that thing...so plain so simple so good....

2. tell the security guards to chill out...im not advocating they overlook physical violence or anything but to yell at people for standing up or even giving the finger or cursing...i mean jesus

3. bring back one of the two old school jerseys permanantly...its not a coincidence that the best jerseys in the nfl are either the classic ones that have never changed (skins, raiders, steelers) or teams that have gone throwback (jets, giants)...the eagles look like a friggin expansion team in what they are wearing

the skins change their jerseys and logos every year

not really

occasionally they will rock a throwback ala the chargers baby blue and for the 50th aniversary year they went vintage for the whole year

that spear throwback they don every once in a while is awesome..they should stick with that and get rid of the racist symbol they rock now

I used to look forward to the sign man banner. One of the things that Lurie sanitized away from the real fans.   :(

I don't think the number of seats is the issue as much as the shape of the stadium. Places like the Vet and Three Rivers were turned into semi-open fields like the Linc and Heinz. The sound just goes up and out, rather than being directed down to the field.

totally agree....but when they were building the linc they tried to say it would be louder than the vet because of the over hangs along the sideline portions of the stadium...which never made sense to me because the vet had an overhang over the whole stadium AND was fully enclosed

theres no contest in the noise levels between the linc and vet

Still, you have to admit that the seating at the Linc is much better in terms of sight lines and closeness to the field than the Vet.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

mine arent but im three rows from the top and when you get that high it all looks far away

but ive heard the sightlines are much better in other parts of the stadium

Yeah, we were closer to the field at the Vet, but because of the layout, we couldn't see half of the endzone on our side. It's a tradeoff...

I miss the Vet the way a child misses the father who used to beat the shtein out of him.

As someone once said... it was a shteinhole but it was our shteinhole.

Unless it was a different sign, the one I remember said "We may have a Bible but we don't have a prayer."

I also remember during Reggie's last year with Philly Sign Man had one up that said "Praise the Lord and Braman's wallet."

I guess he thought that Reggie was going to be resigned.  :-D   :'(

You have three steps in one there, chief.

Feel free to eliminate one and then follow through on the rest, cockface.
You may be the dumbest person on the face of the planet.  No I take that back, YOU ARE THE DUMBEST PERSON ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET.

Back to the lockstep march for you, farging puppet boy.

I just saw this. . .

Why was he responding to something I wrote (in jest, obviously) to mpmcgraw?  Good God.   :-D :-D

It's hard to think clearly with all those meds.

If you don't like the stadium, don't purchase tickets and go watch a game there.
