Can we cover Plaxico, and think about stopping the run? Will Garthia's hot body make it thru the first half upright? Do the Iggs run the ball more than 10 times? Discuss my little rays of sunshine... ::)

It all hinges on the defense.  I'm comfortable enough with Garcia in there managing the game.  He hasn't made any stupid mistakes (yet).  As long as he can do that and the defense can keep the score modest we might be able to pull something off.

However I have zero confidence in the run D and I expect Tiki and Jacobs to have their best days yet.

Why haven't we activated LaJuan Ramsey?  He's huge.  Where is Kenyotta Marshall?  Tiki would run into those huge fat asses and bounce 5 yards back.

This is really the make or break game for the playoffs.  Right now, you have to figure on the Cowboys winning next week.  So the birds have to win Sunday to make the Atlanta game a game to get in.

Keys:

Stopping the run:  Obviously this is going to be what decides the game on defense.  If the Giants can run the ball, it sets up the rest of their offense and will allow the line to protect Eli.  They probably had their best effort against a running back in week 2 when they held Tiki to 51 yards on 21 carries.  They have to keep Lewis at the line up scrimmage and take thier chances with the corners being singled up on the wideouts.  IF they can control the run, they need to get pressure on Eli on 3rd downs.  The Dline has not gotten pressure on a QB in weeks, but the Giants line is awful, so they need to be able to get there with four lineman.

Offensively, they were able to score on the Giants in the first game, of course that was with Donovan.  They used the no huddle offense and it was extremely effective.  They should be able to use the same game plan and attack the secondary, especially with the injuries the Giants have.  Westbrook needs to touch the ball at least 25 times if they are going to score enough to win the game.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Ya know Ive been saying all year our D might not be so bad if our offense could stay on the field longer than 1-2 minute drives.   Last week we were up, what 21-3 at the half and then AR comes out passing with I don't know how many 3 and outs, instead of running the ball and managing the clock.  I know our run defense is pretty bad and has been for years, but being on the feld all game long isn't helping the guys out either.

A prime example is the Indy loss.  The great Peyton Manning and his high powered offense went to shtein sunday because of a very good run game and an ass kicking defense. They did it to us, they did it to a few other teams this year too. It's the goddamn blueprint to winning in this league.  Look at all the top teams and look at the past super bowl winning teams in history. Very few had a high powered pass game.

The key to winning this game is to go up early and force Eli to make plays late.  We have yet to see the Jeff Garcia who is behind and needs to catch up.  Tiki and Jacobs are going to have a field day of course, but if we go up early we may be able to force them into throwing.  This fits best with our D. If we can get to Eli, he'll make mistakes. Let's hope Trent Cole doesn't kick any nuts sacks late in this game. If all this goes down, we win. If the Giants decide to run all day long, we are toast.

I really don't think he's fishing. As I said elsewhere, the Giants have some internal problems, so there is that false glimmer of hope in our hearts, but the truth is that the Giants are a FAR superior team. They should win this game by a mile.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

a far superior team that has found a way to lose 4 out of the last 5 games...going from 6-2 to 7-6 does not say superior in any way.

unfortunately i'm with igy on this one, and no fishing involved.  the giants are a better team, i'd like to think we can pull out a W but i am not going to be disappointed if we don't.

Well I'm heading up for the game, so you better not be right IGY.

They WILL score points on the Eagles.  The Eagles need to get in the high 20s/low 30s to win this game.

This game isn't that important in the scheme of things.  Simply put, the sixth seed will get in at 8-8.  As long as there's a three-way tie for 8-8, we get in.  A loss this week and next coupled with a win against Atlanta gets us in.  A win would be nice but not essential.

SD_Eagle5

I'd like to think the 'revenge' factor would mean something in this game, but I just don't think it'll matter much. Both defenses are rather pathetic...but ours is worse.
