Hate Palin.  Hate those who follow her.  Have never said otherwise.

That said it doesn't appear this 22-year-old was as much mega-right as simply mega-crazy.  But I don't think he acted alone, and we'll find more about this shtein in the upcoming days/weeks.

Regardless of his motivation or politics people have been assessing blame to the Right because of their rhetoric. Why do you think that is happening?

Well, that stupid idiot Sarah Palin's bullseye's don't help. Take her to the Alaska wilderness, strap Moose antlers to her head and give her about an hours head start.

You should probably read the article that Dio posted in the No Hippos section.

I think Olbermann was right to emphasize that, whether this attack has anything to do with politics or not, it's a good time to look at the rhetoric we are using--for example putting rifle crosshairs on your political enemies in campaign posters--and reconsider the consequences of engaging each other in such a way.

It's protected speech when Palin targets people, when Tea Partiers talk about resorting to the 2nd Amendment solution, but it's only barely on this side of incitement to violence.  Maybe we shouldn't be flirting with that line, but instead stay as far back from it as possible.

True, but anything that knocks Palin down a peg or twelve is good for everybody.

Seems like the shooter was an occult guy.

this is what happens to socially moderate Republicans, even if they are solid fiscal conservatives:

QuoteKittleman stressed that no one had pressured him to step down.

"It is my decision and my decision alone," he said. He said he will remain in the post until Friday, when Senate Republicans select a new leader.

yeah, right.

i personally think everyone should be for all others civil rights...regardless of the issue...however i understand how there are people out there that could care less about others...

what i dont understand and what never ceases to amaze and anger me is how there are so many on the right that are 1000% against gay peoples rights...its one thing to just not care but all these politicians that make it their priority to ensure that these people dont have the right to marry should have their taints violated

I don't understand that at all either.  The only thing I somewhat get is the uber-religious folks that want to make sure gay folk don't use the term "marriage," but all I'm saying is that I understand it - not that it makes any farging sense at all.

This is where SD is exactly right in my opinion... God/Jesus would not have hated gay people, so why do so many do so in the Lord's name?
