perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Getting on my hippo-riffic leftist stump real quick after a very frustrating argument.

I'm hoping the young, the women, the educated, the minorities, and the LGBT community vote today. I can't stand being told big government is bad and infringes on all of our lives by the same party that stands by the Patriot Act, the idea that government should tell women what they can/can't do with their bodies, that government should say people can't marry other people, and that all immigrants and Muslims are bad. The fact that so many in this country can't see the extreme hypocrisy in this, or do see it but let it slide because God wants those things, is both funny and frightening to me.

It's especially tiresome to hear that it's actually taxes going up to 1990's levels (which I think were...what....3rd lowest in American history?) is what is threatening our liberties. The ideals listed above are a much more threatening to our civil liberties than a top tax rate at 39.6%.

And yes, I know democrats voted for and supported the Patriot Act, but that's not the point. They're not the party that's out there telling us how big and bad and evil the government is and how it needs to stay out of our lives.

I was there.  The crowd was obviously partisan.  I thought Stewart did a good job of keeping the proceedings relatively non-partisan though.  It was more of a condemning of the media than anything else.

Nothing like an election to bring out the idiots...I'm listening to NPR's coverage and the 'man on the street' interviews are making me cringe...a country full of willfully ignorant bigots.

yes byrds seat.....and it was considered a toss up contest for a seat the republicans pretty much had to have if they wanted to take the senate along with the house

In any setting the MOS interviews are cringe-inducing. But in regards to politics its a hundred times worse.

Speaking of bigots...

Saw a guy today with these two bumper stickers...

"THE SOUTH WAS RIGHT"

"I'M THE PROUD DESCENDANT OF A CONFEDERATE SOLDIER"

In Arkansas Blanche Lincoln(D) lost as expected to Boozman (R) , but it looks like Mike Beebe (D) will be the new Governor.

Rivers Cuomo, taht is, of Weezer fame.

So far Sestak is stomping Toomey, which I find surprising because wasn't Toomey leading in the polls for most of the time?
