Yeah, well I disagree with 95% percent of the people here so take one word from one of my post and turn it around to make it look like something it isn't. This bill is something Nancy Pelosi and the far left put together that rewards unions, that spends billions on global warming research, and goes into all kinds of social engineering. We don't need research on global warming in this bill, or birth control for the kids, income redistribution, new cars for federal workers, or 54 mil just sitting there to be spent on whatever. The majority of Americans don't want to spend a trillion dollars on social engineering and other liberal bullcrap. They want jobs. But, the bill seems to be wrong in even that respect. The "Buy American" clause in the bill has other countries up in arms, and could end up resulting in all out trade wars.

thats fine and well but just say youre a right winger and you dont like the bill from your political standpoint...that makes way more sense than saying its filled with all pork

Is anyone wondering when the bill will reach a trillion? What comes after a trillion? A zilliion? Hell yeah, might as well make it a zillion.

Like I said, we're in a position where a whole lot of shtein needs to be addressed and we have no money in the coffers with which to address it. So what is the grand plan of the screeching Right?

you simply can't be reasoned with right now.

drop the bitching about the contraceptive item.  it was already removed because of people like you bitching about it, so you are no longer allowed to bitch over it.  you won on that one, bitching bitch

new hybrid cars for feds supports jobs, reduces environmental damage, cuts government waste, and reduces our dependence on foreign oil.  why you would be against that, I can't fathom.

I'm gonna go support SCHIP and have a smoke.

Like it has been said, there is no money for this kind of stimulus. How does spending money on cars for people who already have jobs creating jobs? That kind of spending is not something that will help the economy right now, and will have to be addressed at a different time. Instead of more spending, the government needs to be frugal and spend less, but get more out of it. It's not my job to figure out how, it's Obama's, thats why he was elected, and now he wants to act like,"DAMN, look at this debt I've inherited!! I had no idea!!"

It's just my job to bitch about the parts I don't like.

Only true if you bitch about them intelligently.

Your last post was intelligent bitching.
Your first post on the topic was not.

People make the cars.  People make the parts to make the cars.  People make the materials to make the parts to make the cars.

People move the cars to the point of sale locations.  People move the parts to the factories that make the cars.  People move the materials to the plants that make the parts.

Jobs all.

You left out the part about informing yourself first.

Like I said, it's money that doesn't need to be spent now. Those union jobs aren't going anywere and the auto workers have already been bailed out, or did you forget that?

Who ever thinks this bill has only 5% waistfull spending is out of their mind. All i heard from Mr. President was this stimulus bill will jump start the economy, create jobs and rebuild the old and create new infrastructure. Thats all he said it would do. Anyhting is else is horseshtein spending by the ones who are in power and thats fine, they won congrats. But to act like it is a matter of minutes like the idiots did last time is bs. They have the votes go for it, and please get off the ones voting against it paaaaaaaaaaaaaalease they have the right to vote no, and they along with the idiots pushing this thing will pay a price politically good or bad.

rjs246

Care to outline the wasteful items that you think constitute more than 5% of the bill?

I don't expect you to actually do that, but my point is that even the items that Republicans have specifically outlined and published as wasteful amount to less than 1%... your bold statement we're crazy to think there's tons of waste in the bill actually contradicts what the republicans are saying...

You realize that the government can't control this contraction.  It is the result of bad loans and home valuations.  They were then packaged into securities that were purchased and not valued correctly nor rated for the proper level of risk.  The gov'ment can't spend their way out of this one.  Just like the bank bailout "isn't working".  The pols want immediate results when in reality it is going to take approx. 2 years to work its way out.

Also, the republican idea of tax cuts is not going to give an immediate stimulus nor increase employment short-term.
