For real.  People cry about how expensive rails are, ignoring how expensive roads are.  And I don't just mean the staggering amount of cash needed to build and maintain roads; lump in the cost of gas on the American people, the cost of being held hostage by the Saudi scumbags who feed our oil addiction, the cost paid by the environment and therefore our health, and you come up with a massive cost.

I thought it peculiar that during all the hubbub surrounding how the CEOs of the big three auto corporations would get to Washington, the discussion was centered on ['would they drive, or would they fly'?  As though there was no third option.  But you know what, there is no rail option.  You simply cannot get from Detroit to Washington D.C. by rail unless you have gobs of free time and more patience than the Dalai Lama.   Not to mention plenty of cash.

It is a national embarrassment that we cannot hop a train from Detroit to D.C., NYC to Chicago, Kansas City to Dallas.  In the interest of wasting less, consuming less, polluting less, kicking the Saudi oil addiction (and thereby improving our national security), and investing in a more efficient economy, rails should be the top transportation priority.

Why don't we have flying cars yet?  I'm kind of disappointed that 2015 is going to be nothing like "Back to the Future 2"!

Jesus farg man, how could I overlook flying cars?

Trains should be the second highest priority.

Either way, investing in roads and the auto industry are not good places to blow money we don't have.

Not that this is Obama linked in anyway, but the Illinois Govenor (Blago) and his chief of staff have been arrested this morning at their homes by the Feds!!

The fact that this corrupt bastich got re-elected last time around says a lot about the voters in the northeastern corner of this state.

QuoteBlagojevich and his chief of staff John Harris are charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's office for the Northern District of Illinois.

Federal prosecutors say Blagojevich, Harris and others conspired to gain financial benefits in appointing President-elect Barack Obama's Senate replacement, according to the statement.

Blagojevich, Harris and others are also alleged to have withheld state assistance to the Tribune Company in connection with the sale of Wrigley Field. The statement says this was done to induce the firing of Chicago Tribune editorial board members who were critical of Blagojevich.

The statement also alleges that Blagojevich and others tried to illegally obtain campaign contributions

My state govenor was arrested this morning, sorry if that is big news to me. I've hated the last two scumbags and now they will hopefully both be behind bars.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe you're the problem in Illinois?  And by "you're" I mean, all you idiots who live and vote there?

One example of the state's voters. He was endorsed by our Teachers union after they blamed him for not paying into the reitirement fund, that is outrageous and funny to me, moron's.

Illinois isn't exactly competitive for Republicans.  The question is how Blagojevich won the primary.
