No doubt. And I hate that side of politics. Which is why I was not shocked, but mad to read about how McCain's campaign is going to resort to the underhanded tactics to get ahead and make up some ground.

The muslim stuff, the terrorist association; all blatantly false but put out there by McCain's people (Karl Rove).

The vindictiveness of people can never be doubted. When someone has an ax to grind, they will resort to whatever measures necessary to grind it.

They did the swift boat stuff with Kerry, they do the muslim stuff with Obama, now this Rolling Stone piece does it to McCain. How much is truth and how much is sour grapes?

There are some pretty powerful quotes and insinuations in there, if true. My mind is made up on who I am voting for. And I like to think that I am not swayed by garbage.

But most people do not make their minds up on issues, they make their minds up based on tabloid stories.

So, McCain is going to attack Obama for his past associations?
Palin is going to attack Obama for his relationship with an incendiary pastor?

Its going to get ugly folks...

keith Olbermann had a pefect response to this yesterday on his show. he highlighted all the shady associations of Palin herself.

but all of this has been done before. even in the democract primaries. Hannity has been screaming about it for 8 months now. i really hope it has no affect now. the funny thing was (and i know there is a clip of it somewhere) yesterday when McCain asked "who is Barack Obama" you can hear in the background the ppl from the rally scream things like "TERRORIST!" and "KILL HIM!"

what a great base he has.

i know it will never happen but Obama should come out and use his middle name to his advantage. tell ppl how the name was the name of the grandson of Muhammed who was along with his family massacred for refusing to pay allegiance to the tyrant in charge.

This past Sunday was church political rally day in Missouri it seems. Despite the state recently shifting to Obama by 3%. My neighbors were full of talking points and McCain/Palin signs for their lawn given to them at church. Not sure how I feel about that but I know how some of you folks will rail against that sort of thing.

The McCain article above is just swift boat nonsense though. You gotta call a spade a spade sometimes. The closer to the election we get the more desperate and ridiculous the political attacks get. I remember the close Bush Gore election when someone put a pamphlet under my wiper blades at a walmart with graphic images explaining how Gore was Pro Partial birth abortion and wanted to kill unborn babies a week before the election.

That rules.  But I'll bet it's not, unless she's had work done on it.

Pollster has Obama leading (more than margin of error) in states worth 320 EV, with a 6% average lead in the national polls.  The Clinton landslide happened with a 5% margin in popular vote.

28 days to go.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

i had a big envelope in my mail today for the McCain campaign.  inside was a self addressed overnight FedEx envelope and a letter asking me to donate > $100.  i put two pennies in it and dropped it in the outgoing FedEx.  I'd like to think that if everyone did this, we cost actually make the campaign lose millions.  at least i took a few bucks from them, overnight FedEx postage is not cheap.
