Ha!  No, it doesn't.  It's one thing to be educated.  It's another to think that efforts to become educated make you more qualified for basic American rights, like voting, and that such restrictions would actually benefit your candidate of choice if they could feasibly be enacted.

And only the left would negatively label people who have worked hard to become successful businessmen.

It works both ways. Getting into a 'the right is better/stupid, no, the left is better/stupid' conversation is idiotic because both sides are stupid.

So, no one is qualified to vote if they have a well-justified opinion or if they don't have one?  Who's left?

When it comes to this shtein you're goddamned right I'm elitist. Allowing people who don't understand the issues or know anything about the candidates to vote is infuriating. I'm not proposing an alternative, but when people are still insisting that Obama is a Muslim 9 months after it has ben well established that he is not they should be disallowed from taking part in the system. they don't even have the ability to engage themselves and yet they are allowed to vote? Please.

40% of voters vote for the Repub.. Candidiate for the wrong reason
40% of voters vote for the wrong Democ. candidiate for the wrong reason
20% of informed voters elect the right person

Nothing new here.  Both sides of the aisle try to show off as much of the "correct" demographics in their speeches.  I remember that Clinton had a nice handful of black people behind her speech after winning the PA primary, and Barack actually tries to maximize the whiteness of his crowd.
