just the fact that the UN troops would be respected over there much more than the occupying force we have would be a good start to turning things around in iraq....not to mention as dio said it gets us the hell out of there

Thats some funny ish, when has UN troops been respected? Maybe they can send the great ones from the Congo, job well done.

Soldiers are what they are no matter who they represent. Suggesting that US soldiers are murdering citizens isn't a good way to make an argument for or against anything. US soldiers are doing the best they can given the mission they have to carry out. Soldiers are also a cross section of society so there are good and bad folks just like any other large group of people. That doesn't change just because you decide to change the logo on the uniforms over there. Heck the UN soldiers could very well be US troops with UN arm bands like Kosovo.

Fear is the quickest path to respect.

SunMo taught me this with regards to parenting, but I think it is applicable here.

If they are there, then to the Iraqi people they will be occupying their country. They have been fighting each other forever, why would you think a corrupt organization would be able to handle them?

Well, the source is Foxnews so we should probably take it with a grain of salt, but either way, I find it rather funny.

An email about that when around my office today... funny thing was 2/3 of the people who got it thought it was legit

im not talking about individual soldiers...im talking about an occupying imperial american army who invaded their country and 750,000 civilians died....you or i can call it what you want they call us murderers...and thats the only thing that matters when talking about who should be over there now

So you dont think the 20 bomb resistant buildings on the 104 acres of Baghdad land that cost $736 million and the new embassy that is built is a good thing then huh?

Get used to our troops being there for a long time with a "never has been" exit plan by the Bush Admin continuing for decades

Counterpoint to those who assume Obama would pull troops quickly and McCain would escalate in Iraq

As I've said before, the positions in Iraq are just posturing.  Obama's campaign message will be much different than the one he gets/gives if elected.

rjs246

CNN has an analysis and comparison of the McCain and Obama tax plans (and they laid out the proposed end result by family income). I would pay less in taxes under both of their plans. So yeah, still voting for Obama. Weird.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

It looks like your three sources mentions the same three or so incidents. So, assuming that each of these is actually legitimate, where are your Bush incidents to compare?
