My assessment:
I think the first 45 minutes was a love-fest that didn't convey anything.
Obama bitch-slapped Hillary on the action vs. words nonsense
Hillary's strongest point/distinction was on health care, but I still don't agree with her.
Obama's weakness in debates is that he talks so slowly, so he can't convey as much  information.
Hillary definitely scored with the last word, but I don't think it was enough.

Truth be told, if there was another 5-10% difference between the two, we'd be looking at running mates not opponents.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Did I just read correctly on another site that Hillary actually brought up her "tough times" in her life and how she got through them so well, meaning Bill/Monica? What the farg place does that have in a debate?  ::)

That was the wrap up I mentioned, and it was a big softball from CNN.  The question was something like "what was the toughest situation you have ever had to face" or something like that.

FWIW, I think last night emphasized that they are both reaching to show that there are differences between the two.  The only two differences are healthcare (both want universal, but the approach is different) and PAC/corporate money.  There were times that each of them were nodding in agreement when the other was speaking - I had to remind myself that they weren't working together on something.

He doesn't seem to ever seek any sort of sympathy in debates or speeches.  Hillary definitely has tried to play the "feel sorry for me" card more than he has.

Also, George Clooney calls himself the Hillary Clinton of the Oscars.

I save the real hating for you IGY, you know that.

But its not a matter of Hillary hating. Point is..its just another dumb move IMO. DOes she REALLY need to "remind" all of us what a debacle that whole situation was and that her meddling husband would probably only cause MORE of them if she were ever to get in the white house?

that fine but is that a reason to bash her at every opportunity...its ironic too because one of the foundations of obamas candidacy is that he doesnt get negative and stays above all that...and other than bills slip up in south carolina for which she shut him down both candidates have run very respectable campaigns...yet it seems like so many obama supporters (not just on this board) try and tear down hillary at every opportunity when the guy they support does just the opposite...it baffles me

I'm not tearing her down at every opportunity. I've made it abundantly clear that I don't like her very much, her mannerisms, the way she speaks, etc....but I've also been very clear that her policies ARE similar to Obamas in a lot of ways. But that healthcare is not something we agree on.

I certainly have a bias, but look at the questions asked in last nights debate.  At the 45 minute mark they said basically, it is nice that you two are getting along so well, but that's not what's happening on the campaign trail.  Hillary, how do you justify your attacks on Obama?  Obama, how do you defend yourself against Hillary's attacks?  All they had to discuss along this line were Hillary's attacks on Obama.

There's a difference between attacking her, and calling her on her hypocrisy.  Although most of my commentary has been directed toward why I think Obama will win, as opposed to the racists here who think he doesn't have a chance.

Could you be any more of a hypocrite?  You stereotype and bash more than anyone on this board.

Now, Hillary is a cryer AND a cop-killer.  No way she wins.
