Don't forget that you mailed me a ticket to the Giants game and now know where I live.

I love the internets so much.

Global view of the candidates

QuoteObama, perhaps not surprisingly, is generating most of the buzz abroad.

"Der schwarze Kennedy," some German admirers are calling him: "The black JFK."

Why is it necessary to maintain a fleet in Japan?  What, to protect it from North Korea?  Come on.

I was reading up on the two incidents with China's navy, their buildup is impressive in a bad way

The best tact with the Chinese is more trade with them.  Show them we are more interested in their goods than a global threat.  Increased military presence in Japan as a precautionary measure is not going to slow the growth in the Chinese military.

as much as i hate to admit it, hillary was much better than obama last night.  he sounds good when he talks but other than his health care plan he didn't really say anything at all.

I don't really dislike Hillary at all.  I'd just rather Obama be the next president.  If it's Hillary, then so be it.  She'll still do better than the current admin by leaps and bounds.

All of this is spot on. His health care reform sounds far more reasonable, but the rest of him is just talk. Doesn't matter, I still want him to beat out Hillary. Bad.

as do i, but i think last night's debate is going to be the deciding factor for a lot of dems, and in my opinion, hillary beat him pretty handily.

i wanted them to fight at least a little bit.  instead they were about to make out up there.

I liked Obama's tack last night because he was more about generalities than specifics.  Hillary does a fine job of laying out what she'll do, but chances are, what she wants to do will be blocked by hardcore conservatives in the house and senate anyway.

Obama seems to be about building a consensus whereas Hillary's all about micromanaging every little detail.

If Obama can make his "vision" clear and hammers it home every time, I can't see how he won't win.  Hillary is just fingernails across a blackboard as far as I'm concerned.

PoopyfaceMcGee

General consensus is surprisingly in favor of Obama last night.

That's basically the whole jive of the debate last night:  "Hey, we kind of disagree on a few things, but neither of us are Bush."

I thought Obama destroyed her on the Iraq debate...but that Hillary won in the healthcare issue.

Other than that, I saw nothing that led me to believe Hillary beat Obama "pretty handily" as matty stated.
