i'm still voting for fred thompson.  i have no ideas what his views on anything are, but he just looks like a president.

rjs246

He is extremely conservative and religious. Pro life. THE PERFECT CANDIDATE!
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

phattymatty

but he looks fatherly and wise on tv.  and he's tall.

The best case white house battle that will never happen:
Ron Paul(R) vs. Mike Gravel(D)
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

i've never heard of this Gravel guy but i just spent the last few minutes reading about him and he seems to be pretty sensible.

SunMo

you just saw Rudy's entire platform...I lived through 9-11, elect me
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

ice grillin you

pretty much

and you also saw why hes the current leader...did you hear the applause from the idiot sheep in the audience

the ironic thing is paul so dead on its not even funny

nobody and i repeat NOBODY on this planet is tossing and turning in rage at the notion that theres is freedom loving country out there where elections are held and anybody can grow up to be president...least of all osama bin laden who had for a long time been involved in the american stock exchange...the guy is a 100% pure capitalist

his followers are a different story of course...but even they dont hate the american dream...they hate us because of the gap in our compassionate help others freedom loving rhetoric and our actual real life foreign policies...they ahte us because we support tyrants and dictatorship...because much of our wealth comes at their expense...they hate us because we talk about high ideals like freedom then bomb the living shtein out them for oil

we dont do the american dream any favors by lying about all this and were not gonna make the hatred of us go away until we start acknowledging some of these truths

The media doesn't get it either...

My paraphrase:

Blitzer (?): Heh heh - you had a good go with Guiliani last night.  It almost sounded like you said that the US brought terrorism on itself.
Paul: I did say that.
Blitzer: but you didn't really mean that the US brought terrorism on itself, did you?
Paul: Well, if you read the 9/11 commission report, you will see that the CIA thinks this as well.
Blitzer: Yeah, but...
Paul: Maybe the presidential candidate who is putting himself forward as the expert on terrorism should have read the 9/11 report before shooting his mouth off.

Rome

The part about challenging policy and fostering debate was excellent.  It's too bad that the attack dogs will be lined up against him and tear him to pieces, though.

SOP from the GOP...

PoopyfaceMcGee

His opinions around 5:30 are dead-on, too.  The U.S. makes its foreign policy so that they will freely beat up on countries that pose a minor threat (no nukes), but they won't touch the bigger threats.  So, what do countries do?  They make damn sure to get nukes.

It's a shame that guy has no chance to be the nominee.  Paul vs. Kucinich would probably provide the American people the best actual options.
