I had drinks with a friend of mine on Saturday and I learned quite a bit about the liberal conspiracy from him. 

1. The Russia story is bullshtein.  It's actually Obama who is orchestrating this and Trump and is minions are virginal and blameless.  Also there's no "there" there. 

2. The stock market has actually only begun to rocket up since January 20th.   Any increases before that came despite Obama's policies, not because of them.

3. Climate change is a massive hoax and any further research into it is bullshtein communism designed to wreck the petroleum industry.   Obama is also to blame for this because he's at the head of an Islamic cabal to make America weak and dependent on foreign oil.  Also, we've actually had two ice ages in the last century, which everyone except those on the right is intent on burying. 

4. Queers are bad and are responsible for turning our society into a cesspool of immorality. Not hot lesbians getting it on, though.  Exceptions and whatnot. 

I could go on but you get the gist.  He works in the medical field and spends a lot of his time driving around listening to right wing propaganda.  Listening to him lay out conspiracies was hilarious and unbelievably depressing. 

We are simply doomed.

He wasn't always like that.  He used to be a fairly reasonable guy who was mostly disinterested in politics.  He always leaned right in the same way I lean left (meaning mostly) but he was never brainwashed.  He got really pissed off when I offered up any sort of factual rebuttal, so I just finished my last drink and said I had to split.  I'm sure he feels the same about me, though.  Not sure what happened to so many of my friends, actually, but a lot of mine have gone straight loco.
