Great.  It was gratifying to hear that many of the speakers were fantastic.

In the two hours I listened (the end), there were no duds.  Bryant Gumbel didn't really move me.  Lots of great eulogizing.  I probably missed some good stuff early on, will actually go find it online and watch/listen to the part I missed.  When I tuned in there was some Native American concluding his remarks, the final lines of which were well enough delivered that I obviously missed something good there.  Then there was some drumming and singing and shtein...pretty moving.

Texas getting into the civil forfeiture game....

In the underlying case, drugs were found in a Lincoln Navigator. The opinion does not mention whether it was a single joint or kilograms of cocaine. The stop leading up to the arrest was apparently unlawful, and the evidence suppressed. Regardless, the state decided it wanted the Navigator, so it initiated forfeiture proceedings. The civil trial judge denied the state the Navigator, finding that the evidence supporting forfeiture was obtained illegally. The court of appeals agreed, but the Supreme Court disagreed. It is now the law in Texas that law enforcement can engage in an illegal stop and an illegal arrest, but take your property anyway

I saw a thing on FB about some girl who came here illegally with her mom and siblings in 2010 when she was 13. Valedictorian with a 4.95 GPA and going to Yale.
