I just read a quick write-up on her and she seems very down to earth and normal. The same words I would use to describe Obama. NOT the same words I would use to describe Biden or McCain. Maybe I just can't relate to old white people.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Should have been a black women.  And by black, I mean real black, not any of this half-and-half nonsense.  That would have taught 'em!

Shoulda picked Wesley Snipes for VP. He's strongly anti-tax, and approaching purple black.

I love that fact that Obama finally said he's for Nuclear Power(if its safe, and it is with the new Tech)

Agree, and I'm not just an armchair expert on the issue.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Exelon (huge Chicago-based nuke utility) is one of Obama's biggest donors going all the way back to his '98 state Senate run. He supports nuclear, he's just had to couch it to avoid pissing off the old-guard no-nukes environmentalists in the Democratic Party. He's still couching it, with the "if it's safe" (as opposed to all those candidates who support unsafe nuclear power?) and the obvious Yucca Mountain pander in Nevada.

I figured you'd end up chiming in.  No shame!

this republican vp nomination reaks of desperation after last night

just give Obama the bible (or Koran), and let him raise his hand already

Father Demon

Brilliant, reese.  I'm sure that's exactly what went down.  McCain and his cronies saw the amazing speech by Obama, freaked out, called the only MILF they collectively knew, and begged her to be the veep.  Goddamn, son, I believe you have a future in politics!

I hope they saw it because you can bet that non-speaking son-of-a-bitch doesnt have a prayer in matching it

8 is enough--get yourself some...haha

The eye makeup is only one step below Tammy Fay baker but I like the choice.

It's hard to know if anyone in these jaded times picks or nominiates a Jewish black women as a candidate just because it's never been done before and not based on the persons actual merrits.

On the surface you have to just look at the person being nominated and ignore all that other crap.

So, what does the VP do, anyway?

QuoteLarry Kudlow of CNBC's "Kudlow & Co." asked her about the possibility of becoming McCain's ticket mate.
Palin replied: "As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I'm used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we're trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question."

Vice-President, properly practiced (i.e. de-Cheneyed), consists of breaking ties in the Senate and doing little else other than waiting for the President to croak.

Butchers Bill

It was really a no-brainer pick considering all the dissatisfied Clinton voters out there.  Plus, she is the only one of the candidates who has actually RUN something (being a Gov and all).
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

Yeah, unlike that governor of Massachusetts or the Governer of Minnesota.  Or the former CEO of Ebay.  Plus, Plain's 2 year experience governing a state with a population half that of the City of Philadelphia is just like running the country.
