He's the personification of American evil.  Die screaming, motherfarger.

Ted Koppel said it best, straight to his face: "You're bad for America". I wish he knew the damage he's doing to a bunch of dimwits who believe every word of what he says.

a republican district in friggin oklahoma....something is percolating...

QuoteA year ago, Democrats threw $200,000 and a first-tier candidate at Senate District 37, trying to unseat incumbent Republican Dan Newberry.

They lost the conservative west Tulsa County district by 15 percentage points.

This year, with Newberry leaving the Senate, Democrats entered a lightly funded, little-known 26-year-old lesbian.

She won by 31 votes.

Allison Ikley-Freeman's victory Tuesday over Republican Brian O'Hara continued a string of Democratic special election upsets over the past two years. It gives Democrats three special election victories in predominantly Republican districts in the Tulsa area in the past two years, including two this year.

It's called mid-term elections.  Happens virtually every cycle.  Who would have even thought in 2008 that the GOP would regain the House in 2010?

2019 is gonna be interesting - one of three things is going to happen.  Trump gets ousted (5% chance), or Trump turns into Bill Clinton ala 1994 and (gasp) actually works with an opposition party to get shtein done (15% chance), or we end up in total gridlock until 2020 (80% chance).

Either way, you'll get a Dem President in 2020.

this wasnt a mid term election...those are next year this was a special election....additionally youll see that the dems have won three special elections in oklahoma deep red districts in the last two years....so that wouldnt apply to "mid terms" even if this year was a midterm

also this wasnt a congressional race it was a state run contest

Fine.  Inter-term elections.  Better?

Also, the same phenomena applies to local elections.

I think the real revelation is who won in some of these elections. a transgender person and a lesbian just won in in areas that you would've never believed possible.

state races have little to do with national mid term elections much less "inter term elections" which i think you just made up

plus the dems won another state seat in a hugely red oklahoma district before trump was even elected

so no not better

these results are a combination of grass roots progressives bubbling up around the country - even in normally impossible places for them to win - and a special election having super low turnout

Yup, I made up inter term because you refuse to use the generally accepted nomenclature of mid-term elections.

To say that state and local elections have little to do with national elections is naive.  We just had some local elections here in Colorado and pretty much every old, long-term republican officeholder was voted out and replaced with women and minorities, which in a very white state like CO is saying something.

you are arguing against yourself....first you say welcome to the mid terms this always happens then you are saying liberal women and minorities are bumping out long time republicans...how is anyone a long time anything if this happens all the time in mid terms

this is the possible beginnings of a progressive uprising...as you said yourself in colorado this is also happening in virginia and even farging oklahoma for god sakes in districts that have been red for decades....even in georgia in a district that has been conservative for a 100 years and usually goes R by a landslide had ossoff losing by three

this is not your usual mid term movement....which again is a weird thing to think considering its not mid terms
