I contacted my Congressman (Brian Fitzpatrick (R)) over the ACHA. I know a lot of people who use the ACA so I wanted to voice my opinion. His office actually called me. He met with his constituents. He was a against the bill from the beginning.

QuoteAs I have said: 'The Affordable Care Act is broken in many areas and desperately needs to be fixed or replaced with a system that works better for everyone.' That should be the goal for any lawmaker, regardless of party. We have the opportunity to make needed reforms to lower costs and increase access to health care – let's take the time, and do the work, to get it right. That means addressing several concerns including services for opioid addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery.

He's getting my vote in the primary.

He's been in office like 2 months.  Might wanna see what else he does before pledging your allegiance to him.  You never know, he might be a fan of clean energy.  That would be awful.

hes a republican -- I know, stunning that SD would back one -- so I don't think that's a worry.

Are you still a registered Republican (honest question)

Diomedes

Honest answer:  no.

I switched so I could vote in the last Baltimore City mayoral election (which is effectively settled during the primary).  A former mayor, who was ousted after doing some petty shtein, was running again and had strong support.  I wanted to vote against her, even though the candidate I supported (and who won, thankfully) is nothing special, because D.C. can have Marion Barry, we don't need to emulate them thank you.

I was only ever registered Republican so I could waste their money on mailings, field their Rasmussen polls and add weird data to the set, and vote for the craziest people they put forward as a protest to the stale, failing monolithic democratic power system, which rewards people like Anthony Brown, giving people like Hogan an easy shot he should never have had.

you are a way better liberal than me....i cant psychologically and emotionally take having an R next to my name...like my brain couldnt ask my hand to fill out a change of party form and write the words havas and republican even tho strategically its the right thing to do and i actually know several other people including one of my uncles who do the same thing you did

I changed from Democrat to Independent the last time I was at the DMV. I was tired of being contacted. PA won't let you vote unless you declare a party. So I re-registered as a Democrat. #MAGA

You're talking about in primaries and whatnot, right?  Not actual elections?

I registered Republican when I was 18...mostly because I was an uninformed moron.  When I got out of the military and moved back to PA I had to renew my DL for the first time in like 15 years, so I went unaffiliated.  I hate not being able to participate in primaries though so I might just have to bite the bullet and chose a party.  Really don't care much for Democrats, but I hate them less than Republicans.  Of course, the thought of going R again basically just to troll them from within does sound intriguing though.

Yes the primaries. It's a stupid law. I lean and vote left but I try to stay neutral. I voted for Obama twice but could have lived with Mccain or Romney. I can't deal with Trump.

ice grillin you

when you vote for president you are voting for the party that would be in power not the individual...someone like romney who would be considered a moderate pub would completely be pulled to the right by the republican congress...people on both sides vote way too much for the individual running (id like to have a beer with him, she seems like a bitch, obama is soooo cool) for president versus the platforms that the parties stand on

look at what the right stands for and then the left and decide which is for you....the actual person running for president doesnt mean a whole lot

I disagree with this. A majority of people vote among party lines. Even the Independent or "undecided" voter generally votes for a certain party.
