Why should it matter who the mayor of Philadelphia endorses?

Well, in this case he's the second most powerful democrat in Pennsylvania, so his endorsement might carry a little bit of weight with the state's democratic electorate?

Phanatic

He picked Hillary before the Obama wave hit and he's sticking to his initial endorsement.... insignificant...

And Hillary already has the number one.

Maybe I can phrase my question more effectively:

Why should anyone get their panties in a twist over the mayor of Philadelphia endorsing Clinton?

He's allowed to make that endorsement.  He doesn't have to stick his finger in the air to test the wind before he makes that decision, either.  Again:  He endorsed Clinton - So what?

ice grillin you

nutter got a better deal from hillarys camp for the support than barry. barry prolly figured he wasnt gonna take pa so it would be a waste to play ball with nutter. but mikey will surely change his call if barry wins.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Yes... as will all the Obama supporters if Clinton wins.

Whew.  Hitting the fire water again tonight, IGY?

I never mentioned Hillary at all.  I simply said that Nutter's endorsement of Clinton is important because he's the second-most power democrat in PA.  No hate there, dookie, just fact.

Hillary will take PA by just enough to declare a "landslide" but will probably only net 10 more delegates than barryO.

My point is pretty much what Rome said...Rendell endorsing Hillary as loudly as he has been is, to me, because he believes he coudl be on Hillary's short list of possible Veeps. That and the race thing (he brought that up, thank you Guv).

But Nutter SHOULD know the makeup of his city and how they are going to vote. Obama should take Philadelphia by a healthy margin. I would just think he'd be more apt to give his endorsement to Obama because of it.

he supposed to do whats best for his constituency...now im not saying that is hillary but if he thinks she and her programs will do more for the city than obama's then thats who he should support

Cerevant

Don't kid yourself.  He isn't interested in what either of them will do for his constituents, he is interested in what they will do for his campaigns.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Laugh.

Out.

Loud.

Politicians never do what's best for their constituency unless what's best for the people happens to coincide with what's best for them and their careers.

i disagree...govt certainly isnt perfect but theres more good people in it than bad...and nutter seems like a good guy so ill take him at his word until he proves otherwise....but if youd like to go thru life angry and cynical be my guest
