Oh and one other thing:  none of them is baldly unqualified for the choice.

perez and castro both are...in these that they have zero real experience that would qualify them to be a Hillary heartbeat away from the presidency

I love me some Sherrod brown but unless he can guarantee you ohio it would be hard to lose that senate seat

I disagree on booker getting out the black vote...he wouldn't do it at Obama levels but he would do it in large numbers...far larger than any other candidate on the list...like you said the latino vote is on lock for Hillary in ridiculousy high numbers no matter what...but getting out the black and young vote that won two elections for Obama could be important and booker would do wonders in both areas

its not about her having a higher % of blacks who are going to vote its about getting some of the blacks who only voted because of Obama to come out...and young people as well...booker is extremely popular with millenials

Of course he is and that's why she'd go for him, not for the black vote.  It's locked up.  They will vote for her just because they love Bill.  Nevermind, many of them love her, actually.

He'd also be a great stick-in-the-eye of the Trump base

that's not exactly how elections work...its total votes that matter not a % of a voting block

she in theory could win a higher % of the black vote than barry but if 10 million less black people vote this time around and trump brings a much larger white vote which everyone says he will (more people voted for him in this primary than in any primary ever) that could be a problem...in fact its probably the only way she can lose

im not arguing against booker....the points are valid....but youd figure trump is taking care of the whole getting blacks/young people to the polls thing

theres never been a more hated candidate in history
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

I'd add Senator Chris Murphy to that list.

But he might have bigger fish to fry down the road.

hes really not...blacks came out in very small numbers during the primary...they don't give a farg about latinos...and as i said we aren't talking about political blacks...we are talking about blacks who maybe are apolitical or who might vote and might not or who never voted before obama and may not ever again....without booker most of these kinds of black voters aren't voting...I mean lets be honest even with booker a lot wont...but they need to get some of them out...

the negative with booker is he doesn't directly bring you or give you a shot at a swing state...but that can be countered if for example he helped get out the black vote in swing states like virginia or north carolina

It's been rumored for years that Booker is gay. I hope he's the VP nominee, I hope Hilary wins, and I hope he comes out as gay.

that would be cool

gay or not hed be the first single prez or vice prez ever....not sure how much that would matter these days but it would have been unthinkable even 20 years ago

I should have said modern times...also i cant remember who it was but there was another vice prez who was a widower and got married in office...booker would be the first modern day lifelong bachelor

Grover Cleveland married while in the presidency, at age 49 to 21-year-old Frances Folsom, the only president married in the White House.  He was a bachelor when first elected.

John Tyler also married (for a second time) while President.  His first wife, Letitia died in 1842, about a year and a half into his term.  Tyler married (at age 54) married Julia Gardner, the daughter of late New York Senator David Gardner, in 1844.  Between his two wives, Tyler had 15 children, and at least as of 2015 has two living grandchildren (Tyler was born in 1790).

William Rufus King served as Vice-President for six weeks under Franklin Pierce before his death from tuberculosis, and never married.  King and Buchanan were roommates, and there was some contemporary tongue-wagging that Buchanan and King were lovers as well - though probably even more so in today's political climate.

The one you may be thinking of is Alben Barkley, vice-president under Harry Truman.  I think he remarried during his term.  I can't think of anyone else it might be.  My memory of 20-century is more fuzzy, since I'm not immersed as much (the score of my class ends with Reconstruction).
