Final analysis of Super Tuesday:

Despite victories in many key states, Hillary Clinton is far from the favorite.  Most people say that the final delegate count will reflect a near dead-heat with Obama sometime today.

McCain is all-but sealed as the Republican nominee after winning multiple winner-take-all states, including California.

Rome

It's gonna come down to whether they include the Florida delegates in the final tally.  I hate the fact that this bumblefarg state is going to decide the likely course of this country.  Again.

Eagles_Legendz

MSNBC projected delegate count at this moment from yesterday:  Obama 841, Clinton 837.  I don't see how they can justify counting Florida since both were restricted from campaigning and running ads there.

That would basically signal that the DNC hates black people.  The candidates were forbidden from campaigning, and Obama followed the rules.  It would seriously be just a massive slap in the face of Barack Obama, and I don't think his party wants to farg with him like that.  Be it this election or another one, he's their best bet to inspire people to believe in their platform.

Exactly.  It literally seems impossible.

Rome

It might seem impossible but this is the Clintons we're taking about here.  Winning is everything to them.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Thankfully, it's not their choice.  If so, they'd find a way to uncount delegates Obama's earned as well.

Rome

Political chicanery never happens where the Clintons are involved.

as much as my area for the most part loves bill, i think obama is gonna take all three in the "potomac" primary next week.  he's got my vote.

It's all but official:

Obama claims delegate lead over Hillary from Super Tuesday, 840-830

QuoteWith the delegate count still under way, NBC News said Obama appears to have won around 840 delegates in yesterday's contests, while Clinton earned about 830 — "give or take a few," Tim Russert, the network's Washington bureau chief, said on the "Today" show.

The running totals for the two, which includes previous contests and the party officials known as "superdelegates," are only about 70 delegates apart, Russert said.

The bottom line is that the two are virtually tied.

Agreed entirely.

Last night went better than I had ever expected. I hated seeing Obama lose NJ, since that's our state here, but he did so much better than I ever imagined.

Frankly, the way they declare state "wins" in the Democratic primary is downright misleading, considering the way they award delegates by district.  Hillary won both New Hampshire and Nevada, but Obama got an equal amount of delegates from those two states (1 fewer in NH and 1 more in NV).

The tighter it gets the more Shrillary is going to be howling for Florida to be included in the tally.

Wait & see...

Huckabee is making headlines for doing as well as he is, but let's be honest, he still didn't do that well. He had a couple of 4th place finishes in a 3-man race...
