There are really two kinds of Conservatism

Social conservatism which has a large bunch of subtle racist bible thumping freaks (but not always)
Fiscal conservatism which is really just about responsible money management in government.

Bush is a liberal fiscally and conservative socially.

And Bush's particular combination of conservatism represents the polar opposite of everything I am. What a farging icehole.

Liberals are just as intolerant and racist as conservatives.  The difference, it seems, is that they don't want that racism to be institutional in nature.  They likely hate blacks, hispanics, etc. but wouldn't have a problem voting for one or living next to one or working with one.  Just don't have little Tiffany bring home Jamal with an "announcement" and the world is right as rain.

To take it one step further, there are plenty of liberals (like IGY's take on Obama exhibits) that have a defeatism take on racial issues.  "Leaders" like Al Sharpton are examples of this as well.  They wouldn't even know what to do if it weren't for a racial divide.  What if... we truly treated all races equally?  What if... no one honestly gave a shtein that Obama's skin were darker?  Etc etc.  There are plenty of reverse racism and lopsided affirmative action platforms that are perfectly acceptable to the liberals in America.  The problem is that equality issues should be based on class and not race, and those types of programs only extend the perception that people that aren't white can't do shtein for themselves.

The thing is that I'm not even that conservative fiscally. It's specific things that he has chosen to spend money on that make me shtein blood. It's incredible to think that this country had a balanced budget less than a decade ago.

Those evil Clinton's with their balanced budgets...

Rome

I've said it before and I'll say it again... it's how the money is spent that matters.

Keeping Europe safe from a Russian invasion was fine in 1960, 1970 & 1980 yet for almost 20 years now we've kept hundreds of thousands of military personnel there.  Why in the hell is that even necessary?

Why is it necessary to maintain a fleet in Japan?  What, to protect it from North Korea?  Come on.

We could be spending trillions on feeding the poor, curing diseases, paving roads, building bridges and housing the homeless yet all we continue to do is spend it stupidly on military misadventures across the globe.

It's ridiculous and more than a little hopeless at this point.

Phanatic, please don't equate Hillary to Bill. That's a very dangerous road to go down...

Line item veto + gridlock in Washington + dot com boom fueling economy = balanced budget

I've said it before and will say it again - the best part about the Clinton Presidency was that he barely accomplished anything of significance.  This is why die-hard Liberals that want big government and entitlements through the roof call him a Republican.

I'd just like to issue a correction that Senator Clay Davis is a State Senator, and plenty of those guys are not old and white.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Looking at Bushes record I REALLY wish he'd have a fargin drink!  If he is an example of how the mind works in abstinence it should be illegal for people not to drink.

Nah I'm not a Hillary supporter. Chris Rock said recently... being someones wife doesn't make you qualified to do their job. If my wife came up here and started telling jokes none of you motherfargers would laugh! (something like that)
