If a comment like that hurts his chances. then america needs to grow the farg up. Lame

Yes.

Well of course.  But that's the way it is.  Ask John Kerry, who botched a joke and was eviscerated and politically dead before the day was done.

the problem is the people who could care less about a comment like that dont vote

True.  Then, other party politicos will step in and speak out against him, since siding with him would be political suicide.

Rinse.  Repeat.  God bless American politics.

I dunno...might be more fun to attend swank parties and be free to say what you think.

So, Gore's officially getting into the "too good to bother being President" category, then?

Diomedes

He's been squarely in that realm for a couple years now.  Don't you think?

It really doesn't take much for someone to get too smart or too popular to want to be President.

It's someone ironic that this would happen to a guy who, in November 2000, got more votes cast for him than any other man in the history of the country.

Event Horizon

Uppity? You mean like an uppity @#$%@#? Come on, say it.

Eh...both Obama and Jesse Jackson have come out and said it's a non-issue and he obviously didn't mean it as a racist comment, etc.

That'll help a little.

Like I said, he might say some of the wrong things....but I like it. On the Daily Show last night he just said what was on his mind and was completely honest. You don't see that with a lot of presidential canidates. Plus he's good with foreigh affairs, which the US really sucks at right now. And he rep's Delaware, so of course I have to like him.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Like him all you want.  A Republican has a better chance of winning than does Biden.

A moderate Republican probably...but the country can't/won't take anohter 4-8 years of idiots like Bush. And if they do, we'll all be dead by the 2012 election anyway so....

Go Joe.
