This is more of a surprise than a distinct positive or negative, but... John Kerry to endorse Obama.

Phanatic

If I was Obama I wouldn't want his endorsement.

Don't worry.  He's going to endorse Hillary next week.

Got this email forwarded on to me today.  I'm pretty sure it's close to a year old and that much of it has already been proven inaccurate or false.  The fact that it's still being circulated so vigorously is both hilarious and tragic.

QuoteWho is Barack Obama? Probable U.S. Presidential candidate, Barack Hussein
Obama was born in Honolulu , Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. a black
MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from
Wichita , Kansas Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii . When
Obama was 2 years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya .
His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia . When
Obama was 6 years old the family relocated to Indonesia . Obama attended a
MUSLIM school in Jakarta . He also spent 2 years in a Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick
to point out that 'He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic
School '
Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama's
introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was
temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after
the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's
education.
Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced
his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta .
Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists
who are now waging Jihad against the western world.

Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking Major
public office in the United States , Barack Hussein has joined the United
Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.
The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the U.S. from the inside out,
what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President
of the United States , one of their own!

Also, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office - he DID NOT use the
Holy Bible, but instead the Kuran (their equivalency to our Bible, but very
different beliefs)

Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leading our
country? .........NOT ME!!

Sassy... I was listening to a local radio program this morning and a caller basically repeated that entire e-mail verbatim.  And he didn't mention it was an e-mail either.

I was listening to him and I even thought to myself that shtein sounds rehearsed as he was saying it.

They are.  They could have done this months ago and saved a lot of people money that donated to him.

BTW, I can't wait for the scintillating debate tonight.  Who else is watching?!?!?!!

My analysis of the Republican debate:

Firstly, Yuck.  Basically, half of the talk was of cutting taxes and going back to the way the party was with Reagan.  There was some mention of cutting spending to go along with it, but the details were unsurprisingly funny.  Here's the thinking of a registered Republican on the 6 candidates that were there (order is actually from L to R where they stood on the stage):

Fred Thompson - He'd make a pretty good President... on a made-for-TV movie.  I still have yet to figure out his motivation to continue this campaign.  Basically, all of his policies are represented elsewhere in the field.  He showed some wit last night, but still... not happening.

Mitt Romney - I still think he's an empty suit.  Now, he's trying to trumpet himself as an "agent of change" and a "Washington Outsider".  I'm sure he'll be Andy Reid's choice on Super Tuesday, so he has that going for him.

John McCain - It's interesting to watch him.  Sometimes, he's very much on point, and sometimes he seems to ramble, and not in a political way.  I just don't know if he has enough youth in that brain of his to continue.  That said, he's one of only two candidates that made it clear how spending would have to be cut to achieve a balanced budget.

Mike Huckabee - He comes across like he's lying through his teeth and telling the God's honest truth at the same time.  Frankly, I didn't know he was such a good politician (that's not a compliment).  I appreciated his answer on his faith, which included that he doesn't impose it in government.  Still, my assessment is the same of him:  definitely not a fiscal conservative.  I don't vote on social issues, and I still can't see myself voting for him.

Rudy Giuliani - He's even more of an empty shirt than Romney.  He invoked Reagan so many times it made me ill.  He has this huge tax cut plan, but he firmly believes in trickle-down.  Here's the fact:  Whether you think it's a good thing or a bad thing, he would be the President whose actions would most follow in Bush's footsteps.  I can't see this guy balancing a budget at all.

Ron Paul - He was under siege last night, and he acted like a guy who was under siege.  Many of his ideas on fiscal conservatism and generally smaller government obvious ring true with me, but Paul himself is an unbalanced angry man that is not fit for the Oval Office.  Unfortunately, instead of getting his ideas discussed, it seems like he's making them punchlines.

Luckily, I don't have to decide amongst this crop of losers, as the NC primary is one of the last.
