I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Since I'm getting a little older I decided to give a test booster a try. I used this stuff called tribulus terrestris, first two weeks of this stuff was amazing, but it knocks your estrogen level down so low that you start getting lethargic and tired (you need balance), so I had to quit. Gains were good, though.

You're getting old and fat.

Deal with it.

I've been back on my 6 days a week at the gym (35 minutes cardio, 35 minutes of weights and sit ups); so I go in there today and there's some jackoff there running on the treadmill without any shoes. He's guzzling some sort of protein drink and is dressed in sweats and a hoodie with the hood up.

Time for me to knock off 25 more now that I'm alone and can adhere to the strict diet of 1500-1800 a day

I cut back to zero days a week, but I have been drinking beer more and eating more fatty foods.

I have the same routine but it's getting mundane and I need a change, thinking of doing the insanity video or giving p90x a shot. Haven't worked out in a week and a half because my back is farged.

PhillyPhreak54

Yeah it gets monotonous but its what I did during the 6-month massive drop I did 3 years ago. I plan to keep at it until I drop what I want, then when its time to maintain I will look for something better. Maybe biking or racqetball.

Over the weekend I sprained the shtein out of my ankle. It swelled up pretty bad and I may have to get it checked out because it hasn't gone down and I'm almost out of my stash of pain meds...

Anyways, this obviously puts a crimp in my workout routine and driving me crazy. I was in a groove and this shtein throws me off.

What can I do to not undo all of the progress? I wont be able to do any lower body stuff or any cardio for however long I'm hobbling.

But I still want to go. What kind of program can I do until I can get back into my normal routine?

Upper body and abs every day?

swim.  don't over work muscles by doing upper body 6 times a week.  you can get away with just 2-3 times a week lifting total anyway.  if you keep tweaking it you'll just set it back more.  swimming will help the healing..it'll give you cardio.. and should keep you tone.  i work out on my bench significantly less in the summer just because i surf or am always swimming.  one thing is for sure.. don't take pain killers if you have an injury and use that part in a work out and expect it to heal in a reasonable amount of time.  only thing for it is rest and some basic movement to stop it from getting stiff.  then snort some lines and have a beer while chilling on the couch.  go get some Hoyda, that's a good exercise in itself.  plus chicks dig injuries.  stab yourself in the leg and pretend you got hit by a car saving a child and his baby pet bunny from a drunk.  that should keep your adrenaline and metabolism up and get you some definite v-jay.  or just get some HGH, rub some dirt on it and be working out by tomorrow, girl.

the no shoes thing is actually a good training technique for running in half or full marathon. It's to get you to run lighter on your own feet and minimize the impact on the ground when running long distances. I've actually done the no shoes training, it works.

The sweats and hoodie? who the farg knows. Maybe he was just trainign with extra weight.

Tomahawk

Probably had to cut to a certain weight so was trying to sweat the extra lbs off

Phreak, once you can walk fine for a couple days wear an ankle brace as tight as you can and you'll be able to run fine, just don't push it extremely hard. If you include calf raises in your workout, cut those out for awhile. I've broken my right ankle once and severely sprained it 10+ times from skateboarding and playing ball. Once you farg it up real nice once, it's more likely to happen again (and again...and again). My ankle is weak as shtein and I've rolled it a couple times doing simple stuff like walking down stairs quickly. Doctors recommend stuff like ankle alphabets and rubberband stretching, that shtein sucks and doesn't work. Once you can walk without it being painful as hell start running again, it'll stretch out the ankle and start cleaning up your tendons. It'll probably be real sore after, but you gotta get some work in for it or else it could heal wrong. The swelling might not go down, it doesn't really matter, my ankle is permanently nasty but it's the best it's felt in over a year.

Thanks Dillen.

I think I've got the same problem; I'm susceptible to re-injuring it. It happens a lot. I went to the doc today and they said that I need an MRI since its become a chronic thing. He things I may have stretched or torn something.

They gave me a sleeve type brace that has silicon in it and it feels good.

I've been cutting claories back to make up for missing the workouts. This sucks because I was in a good zone.

I just finished reading The 4 Hour Work Week and, in addition to being fairly inspirational for those of us who are 9-5 cube-jockeys, the author talks several times about his experiments in muscle gain and weight loss (the dude has tons of time on his hands and frequently does these types of 'what can I make my body do' types of experiments).

The site that he maintains in conjunction with the book has these three posts about weight loss and muscle gain. Fascinating stuff:

Science.

Losing fat.

Gaining muscle.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.
