Did you cram them directly into your rectum? I hear you absorb the MDMA faster that way.

What weight is that, how much did you lose, and how did you lose it?

I was at the Docs office a few weeks back because of an abscess on my neck, had to get weighed which I was dreading. I'm 30-35 lbs. heavier than I was at this point last year. I'd say 10-15 lbs of that is muscle since I was lifting heavy 4-5 days a week, but the rest is fat (relationships do that). So I started doing cardio again and the weight is coming off. Feeling better too - more energy.

Basically I'm doing 30 minutes on the eliptical followed by light weights.
My diet is:
Breakfast: egg whites in the morning with whole wheat toast - but some days its just oatmeal
Lunch:Grilled chicken with veggies - usually broccoli or something green
Dinner: same as lunch but I sometimes switch the meat.

I know once football season rolls around I won't be able to diet so I'm trying to lose the 20 now.

I'm at 173. I've dropped about 16 pounds strictly through cardio (and cutting out a little bit of sugar). I do some light lifting but I don't have any desire to add bulk so I keep it simple. Basically, I just hit the treadmill 3-4 times a week for 20-30 minutes and follow it up with 30 minutes of whatever weights I feel like doing. A lot less soda and a lot more walking the dog probably helped too, but I still eat like shtein and drink like a fish so I'm guessing if I actually ever dieted like a woman I'd just waste away to nothing.

Nice. Cardio is really the key, I can't drop weight by simply eating less or eating better. I cut the beer for now and switched to whiskey/vodka/scotch with diet soda. Also laid off on the green a little, the munchies and late night cold stone runs were killing me.

im 5'7 and at 164. i started lifting last fall and gained close to 20 pounds....some muscle but some fat also as i tried to follow a eating regimen strictly while work took a toll on me and i couldn't go regularly to the gym throughout the year.

i have some definition but i really wanna lose my belly so i started running on the day i dont go to the gym to lift.

i always thought you were not supposed to run and then lift or lift and then run. if i wanna lose the belly should i try running and lifting on the same day or keep it separated like i have?

I don't have any idea how to answer that question since my body seems to react more drastically to exercise than most. I've always run and lifted together but each makes the other more difficult. A heavy lifting session first makes running absolutely exhausting. You feel like you're trying to run through mud. But the same goes for running first. Saps all of your stamina making lifting more difficult.

If you're doing what I'm doing, trying to get your mass down while having some definition, running first and then light weights seems to work, but the fact that you have been lifting to gain mass means that my shcedule probably isn't for you.

Its almost impossible to gain muscle while losing fat unless you have a helper which I don't recommend. Lifting and doing cardio the same day is fine - my best workouts with weights are after I'm done doing 30 minutes of cardio.
Only way the belly is coming off is if you do cardio and watch what you eat. Lifting and working your abs will add muscle but won't take the fat away. Best advice I could give you is to keep doing cardio and lifting weights. Assuming you're watching your diet the stomach weight will come off fast and you'll maintain what muscle you already have.

Munson

Magical, from my expierience it's always better to do running and whatever else on the same day you lift. Now I never ran just for cardio, it was always agility drills and sprints and stuff to try and boost speed/agility. So it might not be the same thing. But that was the plan I was on and it gained me about 20 pounds of muslce and got my 40 time down to roughly a 4.5. I miss those days.

Now I'm 5'9 172, mostly because I've been lifting 3 times a week and not running at all. Definatley not healthy, I gotta start running again and get my ass in shape. But I always enjoyed doing the running before I lifted because it would warm up my muscles.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I'm pretty sure that taking workout/diet advice from a 19 year old doesn't make a lick of sense. Anything and everything you do when you're that age gets you into shape/builds muscle. Anyone who's fat at 19 isn't trying.

Cardio breaks down muscle while weight lifting builds muscle.  But sure, it makes perfect sense to do both on the same day.

No wonder you're still a scrawny little bitch, Munson.

rjs246

Pretty much everyone here has said that they run and lift on the same day.

I appreciate taking a job at Munson of course, but doing both during a workout is a pretty common practice...
