hopefully they can pull some young players from either team, not sure why San Jose would want him though, they have a pretty nice team already and he's not the same player

Philadelphia Flyers GM Paul Holmgren is facing similar problems, but now he's also got to worry about the health and contract status of team captain Peter Forsberg.
Holmgren and his employers have expressed the intent to re-sign Forsberg, but there's growing speculation the talented Swede might seek a trade by the deadline if the club hasn't climbed back into postseason contention.

Meanwhile, Forsberg continues to be plagued by foot problems. He recently was fitted out for a brace on his right foot, and while he's not expected to miss any playing time it has the potential to be a problem over the grind of a long season.

That and his UFA status next summer could make Forsberg a tough sell if Holmgren were to shop him at some point.


A recent report in the Denver Post suggests the Colorado Avalanche might become active in the trade market.
Avs GM Francois Giguere has several good young players currently on the roster, one of which could be shopped for more experienced depth. The report suggested defenseman John-Michael Liles as a potential candidate to land the Avs either a power forward or a defensive blueliner.

Trading Forsberg would be good and although he isn't the player he once was, he would help a whole lot of teams who are on the cusp and just need some talented veteran leadership on the ice.

Hadley is a blow hard St. Louis sports journalist who makes lots and lots of noise, and is right about 15 - 20% of the time with his predictions.  He has some sources, and reports mostly on leaks, but just because a rumor isleaked doesn't mean it will come true.

1 in 5 chance this actually happens as he says.
