Parent's a defensive defenseman - I read his bio, sounds like a good prospect. I hope just hope Holmgren knows what he's doing.
Nashville appears to be in the lead for him, here's another rumor I found:

Flyers give Forsberg an ultimatum over contract

The Flyers have given Peter Forsberg a deadline for a decision and it's this weekend.

Club chairman Ed Snider met with the Swedish center this afternoon and told him he wanted to know before Sunday whether he intends to re-sign with the team or whether he will waive his no-trade clause.

Forsberg said the meeting went well. "I'm sure it will all be settled by the weekend. I am sure something's going to happen. I don't know if it is a deadline but both of us want this settled as soon as we can."

Forsberg previously said he didn't want to put a deadline on an answer because he is uncertain as to the health status of his surgically-repaired right foot, although he admits it is much better than weeks ago.

Calls to both Comcast President Peter Luukko and general manager Paul Holmgren were not returned.

Flyers officials referred the matter to Snider for comment.

Forsberg scratched. Rumors say Flyers are very close with Predators for a deal with players and picks.

Sources tell TSN the Nashville Predators have agreed to trade Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent, a first round pick and a third round pick to the Philadelphia Flyers for Peter Forsbeg.

Parent has potential to be a solid defenseman. Found this in regards to Upshall:
Assets: Is a fiery competitor and backs down from no one. Has solid skating ability and loves to work the corners. 
Flaws: Needs to add strength to his frame in order to thrive in the pro game. Must show he can back up his trash-talking ways.
Career potential: Third line agitator.

The draft is weak this year so its hard to get excited by the picks. I was really hoping we'd get Radulov, I would have traded him straight up for Forsberg. This trade is 'meh'.

parent had a great world junior tourney last year but has taken some steps back since...he has a chance tho to be a real good second pairing defenseman if he develops...he can move the puck and skate and is an excellent penalty killer

Upshall was picked 2 spots after Pitkanen in 2002, and Parent was the first round pick in 2005 (18th overall)

Forsberg just said in his press conference that he won't re-sign with Nashville before the start of free agency and would like to come back to Philly if they want him back....
