besides torching the Eagles in the SB is he really an elite WR that is tons better than Reggie Brown?

Reggie Brown could be great. One thing is for sure, Branch is light years ahead of anyone currently holding a spot on this team at WR. Brown could explode into the next Chad Johnson, but the chances of him figuring it out with the help of a solid #1 guy like Branch are much higher than him working it out on his own. Branch isn't an "elite" #1, but he is a very solid number one, who doesn't come with all of the baggage the huge names do. I guess to answer your question, at this point, seeing what we all have seen, he is tons better than Reggie Brown. No doubt.

Chances of it happening? Slim. Just because it's too good to be true, and the Pats probably have no real intention of trading their franchise QB's favorite target. If they are though, the Eagles will probably make a strong push for him.

He'll (meaning Stallworth) be an Eagle by 5:57pm Monday!!!1!!!!!!!!!!

The Eagles are the cap champions and the Patriots are ex-Superbowl chamions.

Really though? I'm not sure. I think the Pats are probably around middle of the pack, while the Eagles as we all know are among the tops under the cap every year.

he isnt going anywhere...the patriots (kill yourself if you call them the pats) want him to find out that he is overpricing himself by going out on the open market...and if by chance he finds the money he is looking for then the team has a real number they can touch and negotiate with...expect him to sign with new england by next wednesday

Mort even said on espn radio and he said he thought that NE's idea here is that Branch will find that what they offered him will equal or exceed what anyone else is willing to give him.

i dont know that hes elite but hes tons better than reggie brown

I wouldn't classify him as 'elite' yet either, but at 26 years old with SB MVP in his pocket he can definitely reach that level. That said, get him. 2nd rounder + whatever they want and get this done. Give him a Walker type deal since we have the available space and our WRs are set for the next 5 seasons.

If nothing else, it would be nice for Brown to have someone hear he could learn from.
That said, it'll never happen.
Anyone but Reid.

It's definitely too good to be true. A Superbowl MVP falling into the Eagles' lap after us talking about how we are all out of options? No way that happens to a Philly team. If he does come here he'll blow out his knee week 1.

highly elite, and he had one good year and a super bowl performance--- with not one 1000 yd receiving year.

but he is proven unlike Reggie who we really need to stop tarzanning from
