Davis left without a contract.

I read that other teams were interested, so he might not even sign here.

Where'd you see that?

He's probably predicting it. Which means that it is most likely B.S, which he will dispute and say his was misunderstood later.

QuoteRB Davis Visits, And Then Leaves

Veteran running back Stephen Davis was at the NovaCare Complex on Monday taking a physical for the Eagles, head coach Andy Reid confirmed in his morning press conference. After the physical, Reid met with Davis and the former Pro Bowler then left the Complex without a contract.

The Eagles said nothing is "imminent" regarding Davis.

Why Davis? Reid insisted that nothing about the current running backs caused an interest in Davis. The Eagles have actually been planning to bring in Davis for a physical and workout since training camp, Reid said.

RB Stephen Davis
"We're going to evaluate him," Reid said. "He's a good running back.

"We had planned to bring him in here during training camp and we'll make sure to evaluate him and see if he's healthy."

Reid also said the Eagles didn't have interest in former San Francisco 49ers running back Kevan Barlow, who was traded to the New York Jets on Sunday.

Davis has played 10 seasons in the NFL for Washington and Carolina and has gained 7,875 yards with 65 rushing touchdowns in his career.

Three times in his career Davis has scored 10 or more touchdowns, including 12 last season with Carolina in only 13 games. With the Panthers in 2005, Davis gained 549 yards on 180 carries.

His season was cut short by a knee injury, however, and Davis underwent microfracture surgery to repair the damage in his right knee. He has reportedly been given a clean bill of health by noted physician Dr. James Andrews.

I was actually kinda excited about having Davis for certain situations, but I guess it is understandable that we didnt sign him because of the depth we already have at RB.

That's him leaving without a contract and....

QuoteOne complication might be that the Birds apparently aren't the only team interested. In the wake of the shoulder injury suffered by Clinton Portis, Davis apparently has been contacted by the Washington taterskins, for whom he played his first seven NFL seasons. The complicated terms of his release by Carolina - Davis was "released injured," which means he gets some of the money he was owed for this season, unless he signs with another team and gets cut - probably mean Davis is looking for something more substantial than a 1-year, nonguaranteed veteran minimum contract. He would probably want incentives written into the deal.

That's about us not being the only team interested. A Lew Bowen article on the Daily News.

I would think the taterskins don't make sense for the dude. As soon as Portis is verified healthy, Davis would be done again, probably not seeing playing time again all season. Dude wants to play. Could do the whole huge paycheck thing though I guess....

I think it's because Snyder will throw out whatever money Davis wants, and he's played there before, so he might feel comfortable there.

Plus, from an outside perspective, he probably things they look better on paper than the Eagles.

One can only hope so...
Yea it's not like we have no depth at running back and Reid has shown basically no interest in trading for a back.

After bashing the Davis visit today, it'll be fun to watch the complete 360 that Skins fans make if he signs there.
