that was an aweful speech for sure! the son kept on calling him Reggie White, and his wife was on another planet, kept on saying she was 29 blah blah blah. Really should have been more about Reggie than herself and her faith.

I'm thinking this is right up there with manneans.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

As a fan who watched Reggie his whole career, I have to say he was the greatest Eagle I ever saw put on pads, and possibly the greatest defensive player ever. There was never anyone on the field at the same time as him who was as strong and fast as he was. Jerome Brown was strong and athletic, but not as quick. No one man could block him, and some times even when double teamed he would still break plays up. He was even triple teamed on some plays.

When the game was on the line and the Eagles needed a big stop, you could put all your money on Reggie White being there to get the sack or make a play. He was the most awesome player I've ever seen on any team, and he's right were he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

Anyone else a little bothered by the fact that not one of his former teammates bothered to show up in Canton this weekend?

Bothered?  No.

Surprised?  Yeah, more than a little bit.

Maybe they weren't invited?

PhillyPhreak54

But would they need to be invited to sit there and show their support for Reggie?

I don't know, Phreak.

Maybe the Eagles got a certain allotment of VIP seats and Lurie and the current players used them instead.

I can't think of a legitimate reason why every single member of the Gang Green defense wasn't there (other than Jerome, obviously).

PhillyPhreak54

I don't know either. But there appeared to be a lot of empty seats up close. And Madden had about 20 former Raiders there.

I wish they would've been there. Buddy, Seth, Clyde, Golic, Pitts, Allen...all of them.
