If you had the choice to watch the Shield or Friday Night Lights which one do you take? I want to start one.

i personally think FNL is better (though both are really good), but knowing you I'd recommend the shield

remember the shield went for 7 seasons....i imagine watching it season to season it probably felt like 10 years.

of all the things the shield did drag was not one of them....just about every single episode was non stop out of control and lunacy

plus for me almost every storyline was good in the shield because for a huge cast they have almost no unlikeable characters...goggins wife was def one but shes not really in it until the final season...

where as for me i only liked cranston odenkirk and BBL in BB...so many of the others annoyed the shtein out of me...including the kid and his hysterics

thats a great question...i would have to say the shield cause it was seven seasons of high quality...i don't know if any drama ever can say that...fnl was four seasons and one of them was horrible...but i think i would rather watch the five or ten best episodes of friday night lights over the five or ten best episodes of the shield

both are on the short list of GOAT dramas

I'll give it a rewatch.  Just didn't give it the HBO first season Trial.

i made it through the 1st season of the sheild and never watched another episode. its all subjective though.

SD i'd say you try both at some point. you have more than a couple people saying they're both good shows so it should be worth a look at least.

s1 was slow and the 1st part of the last season they were for the most part treading water until the crazy good last run.

the shield didnt drag because you watched it on dvd....so did i...but from reading people who watched week to week it was definitely a little long in the tooth until the last season. again its a much different experience when you binge, a lot of a show's faults get swept away in your quest for the story.
