Has anyone watched Almost Human?  Like most network shows, the writing isn't the greatest but the premise of the show is good and so far, the special effects and scifi factor have been pretty good.  It'll probably go the way of most other scifi type shows and be off the air in 2 or 3 yrs because they simply don't last unless it's called Star Trek.
LAPD officer has a robot partner, the only robot who has emotions.

Great premise.

FOX has an amazing track record with fantasy/sci-fi shows. Firefly, Terra Nova, Strange Luck, John Doe, Tru Calling, Brimstone, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Futurama, VR5, M.A.N.T.I.S. and Space: Above and Beyond. Except for a wierd little FBI show called X-Files, they're really committed to these kinds of shows.

The man. The myth. The legend.

def digging the last couple of walking dead episodes. mid season finale was awesome. you got lots of killing including a fan favorite and the governor. plus there are many questions left unanswered till feb.

will the group come back together ? if so where will they go ? is judith really dead ? (i dont think so)

If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

The first half of Season 4 of The Walking Dead was by far the most consistent they've had so far, IMO. Maybe the 2nd half of Season 2 can compete.

Mid-Season finale was fantastic.

Just watched it yesterday, and yeah, it was farging fantastic.  The last few episode where they gave you the Governor's story was good, but had a lot of holes IMO.  Kind of hate to see him go only because he was such a good villain, but I'm still glad he's finally dead so that the story can continue to evolve.

I'm mad/sad they killed off Hershel though.  He was the 1st character that I was legitimately sad to see them kill off.  The only other character they've killed off who I really liked was T Dog.

Shane - Douchey Dick
Lori - Usless farg doll biatch.
Dale - Preachy cry baby
Andrea - Wannabe badass
Milton - Nerd
Merrell - Racist pos. At least he died doing something useful.

I did actually DVR the Talking Dead for this episode since it was the midsession finale so I wanted to see the preview for Jan.  It's such a horrible show that I was going to FF through to see the preview but then I saw Maggie was on, so I watched.  She needs to dress sluttier when she comes on that show.

I've seen a lot of people my age bad talking the Gov episodes, but I liked them a lot as well. I like it when we see the world outside of the group. Plus I enjoyed watching the Gov struggle between "coming back" and becoming a full on psychopath.

Yeah Herschel was one of my favorite characters, was pretty sad to see him go. I liked Dale, but not on "close to favorite character" levels. He was the rock of the group, it'll be interesting to see who steps up now. I think maybe it makes for more time with Tyrese getting his shtein together and becoming a more powerful voice in the group.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I know the answer to all of your questions.

Just an FYI...shtein goes down a lot different in the comics. The Governor kills tyreese with the katana not Herschel...and Lilly ( the governors new gf) kills Lori and the baby when they attack the prison. The Woodbury folks never join the prison folks...there's only one raid.

smeags

Yeah i think they are purposely changing the story so its different and people who dead the books wo t know the plot step by step.

Hmmm maybe lilly took judith ?

I'm 5 episodes into the latest season of Boardwalk and I want to watch all of them right now.  great start and it's shaping up to be a great season.  the acting in this show is beyond great.

spoiler alert if anybody hasn't watched it yet:

i was really bummed when al's brother got it, i really liked him as a character and while i knew he wasn't long term i was hoping he'd be around a lot longer

i get really sad when no one watches a show like boardwalk because its "boring" but a pos show like walking dead or breaking bad (not a pos show) become cultural phenomenons

SunMo

yes, it's the same reason why network tv now is such unwatchable garbage.  everything is action/suspense, cheap comedy, or vampires.

sopranos must play on a loop on hbo....last week i finished the series up (only watched season 5) and then this week it started over with season one....ive never done a full rewatch of the show from the start so it was crazy to me how young everyone looked....you would have thought the show spanned 15 years not six or whatever it was...except for paulie who looked exactly the same in the first episode as he did in the last

also preston broadus is in episode 2

yeah it's on every Tuesday thru Thursday on HBO2 at 8 or 9.  i was watching it last night and they do look so much younger.  AJ is a fat little troll instead of a skinny emo douchebag

there are a few wire characters scattered throughout the seasons.  i believe omar is in an episode at the end of season 2 when jackie jr is hiding in the ghetto after he robs the card game

Yeah i think they are purposely changing the story so its different and people who dead the books wo t know the plot step by step.

Never read them myself, but my understanding is that other than some of the main characters and the basic premise, the show has taken on a life of its own and will occasionally inject some of the storylines or scenes from the book so that those fans will still recognize some things, but otherwise its mostly developing a new story on its own.

From what I've been told, Darryl isn't even in the book, for example.

QuoteHmmm maybe lilly took judith ?

Possibly, since her daughter just got killed, but I'm not sure how she would have been able to shoot the Governor and then make her way into the prison yard during all the shooting and commotion and steal a baby that she didn't even know existed.

In a way, I hope that they killed the baby off because that would really show that nothing is off limits for the writers. Not to mention that the baby was a terrible actor.
