they're not comparable, will ferrel is a comedic actor and Bill Mahr is a "stand up comedian" and he's brutal.

well chris rock is passable...but other than that i dont think ive ever laughed out loud at a stand up comedian...and i usually cringe

Eddie Murphy's Delirious is farging hilarious. Bill Cosby killed..his routing about the long jump makes me laugh just to think about. Bill Hicks was a living god. Whoopi can be devastating. Some of Carlin's stuff is very funny. The list goes one.

Stand up >>>> movies.

I loathe agreeing with IGY on anything but he's right. Bill Maher is great and his HBO show is equally terrific.

The stand-up comic comments are absurd, though. Anyone who didn't laugh at guys like Mitch Hedberg or Bill Hicks needs a lobotomy.
