the tony/carm break up scene was maybe the best thing they did and compares to wire scenes

other than that beyond s3 it was really tough to get through. i remember it being boring and im sure on second view the vito storyline is still going to suck
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I did a re watch of Season One of The Sopranos a few months back and it was better this time around and I loved it the first time.

The ending story lines bugged me when it was going on and the farging dream sequences were atrocious though.

The Sopranos was great and a pioneer in a lot of ways. That said, I think it suffered from a few problems 1) the inevitable backlash against everyone who said it was great, 2) sometimes unreasonable time layoffs between seasons and 3) storylines that people became invested in and that were dropped between seasons.

Still, it was great.

I love the Sopranos and never watched an episode until 2010 when I blew through the entire series. But the storylines being dropped were a biggie for me. There was no consistency with character development. For instance, Chris is supposed to be Tony's nephew, and he treats him different than others because of this, but they're not actually related. That was a really big farg up in writing. I hated the way they just threw new characters into the fold. Like Buschemi's character...oh yeah this is my cousin who's been in jail for 10 years and now he's out and wants to do massages.

they are related.  he's carmela's cousin

QuoteChristopher is introduced as Tony Soprano's protege, who has been a father figure to Christopher since the death of his father Dickie Moltisanti. Tony affectionately refers to Christopher as his "nephew", though in fact he is a cousin of Tony's wife Carmela.

Caught the pilot of a show on Showtime called Banshee.  It's about a guy who gets released from prison and he finds himself assuming the identity of a recently hired Sherriff who dies trying to prevent a robbery before he assumes office.  Well, it's a little more complex than that, but that's the gist of it. Dude who played Burrell is in it. Premise seems good but the acting was pretty bad and the writing/dialogue wasn't much better.

Just watched the pilot and I'm in the same boat. I don't know if they can keep the premise interesting enough to maintain viewership. The pilot was good but if it goes downhill at all from this point which is highly likely it's not going to last.
