i watched mildred pierce parts I&II sunday...very good...winslet is probably the best actress in the world right now and not just because she got naked again

yeah its definitely not for everyone and was quite slow....didnt bother me tho and i love todd haynes because hes so authentic when it comes to the period his movie is taking place....so for me its cool to see all the little things that were different in the 30's (or the same)...the acting is also top notch....its just an all around super high quality production....so even if the story doesnt have me all IN yet its still a good look

mad men and and breaking bad have both of those things on top of an actually interesting story

breaking bad has none of it and has annoying acting

mad men is def true to its time but has tv acting made by tv guys...its basically a well made soap opera

classic serial tv and both kids stuff compared to a production done by motion picture people

a better comparison would be boardwalk empire but not really because this is a mini series

yeah thats completely understandable and probably how most people feel about it...i dont love it or anything but i easily liked it enough to see it thru....kinda reminds me of treme in that way...nothing plot wise really grabs you but its so well made that it keeps you in
