the wire barely had 5 seasons before it said what it needed to say and that was the goat

somewhere around 5-6 is enough for tv shows. problem is a paycheck is a paycheck for the crew/actors and money rolling in is money rolling in for the studio. you as a watcher just need to know when to quit.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

It was fun to see how Lurie would play the character. He still has glimmers of greatness, but it's getting lost in the banality of the mediocre plot lines.

The character and some of the lines of the show are still hilarious....but the plot lines are kinda meh.

That was kind of the worry with having him hook up with the chick doctor...that it would ruin the series.

But I still find some of the lines funny. One of the episodes from last season was on rerun today and they actually compared Omar Epps to Mike Tomlin in the show....I lost it

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I think Archer, along with with 30 Rock, is the funniest goddamned thing on TV.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Dillen

Yeah, favorite show by far. Watch the episode Pipeline Fever, the 4th of season 2. Probably best of the series.

MDS

archer is tremendous

it gets ignored because its some bullshtein adult cartoon on cable but its pound for pound funnier than just about anything

that weirdo doctor/scientist guy with the brown beard destroys me

Lights Out not being renewed for a second season, I liked that show
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

phillies will be under 500 this year...book it

Zanshin

I do. Fringe is much better now than it was when it started. It's one of the few shows I'll go out of my way to watch, actually.

ice grillin you

i dont even know what fringe is but entertainment mag this week has a huge article on why everyone should watch it both because its so good and because its about to be pulled because it has no viewers
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Zanshin

I really like it, but I'd be happy if it only went another year or so...which would be enough to cleanly wrap up the main story line, which has serialized the show much more than the single-show plot lines that were prominent earlier in the show. If it goes more than another season or two, as good as it is, it'll get old quick. That said, the serialization isn't inviting to new audiences.

Sgt PSN

Isn't Fringe that show that's kind of like an X Files type show but without the government conspiracy theories?  I think I saw part of an episode when it first came out.....had a bunch of people getting hacked up by butterflies with razor sharp wings or something.  I dunno, I turned it off because it wasn't doing much for me.

Zanshin

That's pretty much how it started...but it's evolved pretty significantly past that at this point. That's why I think that improved...it moved away from that stuff, or at least found a way to tied those things together.

charlie

I really tried to stay interested in Fringe. It was a very compelling story with some of the most uncompelling characters ever written.

MDS

its a geek scifi show. if you dont like star trek and that bullshtein you wont like fringe no matter who in the media says its amazing.

as for lights out, its alright but no one watched it.
