Overall I agree this is not as good as BOB, it should have been a lot longer.  BOB for the most part only covered a year.  The Pacific was covering several years with the same amount of episodes. 

I really liked last nights episode in that I can relate to it, it is hard to come home and try to assimilate into regular society after being in a combat situation.

i really only heard about it after it was done and then i couldn't find it anywhere on demand, and netflix sucks for tv series because the discs usually have 1 or 2 episdoes on it.  but with netflix streaming i could plow through a bunch...it was neat

i had no clue they finally put it on netflix.  Just got added to my queue.  I'm watching Spartacus Blood and Sand.  Xena is a sexy whore in this, gratuitous nudity/gore = entertaining.  Its ROME for people with ADD

The season finale of House aired last night. It was okay, but the thing that made it stand out was that it was shot entirely with a semi-professional DSLR still/video camera (Canon 5D Mk II), rather than a dedicated video or film camera.

finally got around to watching ep 4 of treme

really, really good

its not really about anything but it just sucks me in. writing is superb, pacing is terrific, beginning to really care about the characters even though they are pretty much meandering through their lives and not doing anything really engaging. besides playing sweet music.

also quick cameos from prezbo and steve earle, plus another appearance from slim charles. makes it worth it right there. also im pretty sure cliff robinson was in a scene. and i swear i saw the dude who died in the pilot of the wire, the guy who identified deangelo at his trial.

these breaking bad writers are good.

they literally spent an hour on two guys catching a fly and it was still interesting.

thats where they make an insanely cheap episode shot in essentially one location with only a couple main characters in order to save money. bb is a great show but its not exactly setting the world on fire ratings wise, and its on cable, so the budget is probably fairly low and needs to be brought in on the line.

so in order to do episodes and scenes like the hank vs. cousins shootout and some of the stuff to come, they need to an episode like this.

and i thought it was fascinating. how gripping was the scene of a drugged out walt barely holding onto the ladder, inches away not only killing jesse, but telling him the truth about janes death. great stuff. great change of pace episode. great acting and writing. i like episodes like this.
